Beta Selection / Beta Information

Hello,

First of all, if you've made an error in your beta application, don't worry, we'll offer a solution for you to correct it. Please don't send us email about this.

The Beta selection will be in stages, based on criteria which include:

Hardware specs (we need to test on a wide variety of hardware)
Your Location
Clan beta applications
Darkfall community involvement
A degree of randomness is added to the process giving everyone the opportunity to be accepted. There are no guarantees that long-term followers or that clan beta applicants will be accepted, but there is extra consideration which applies.

We'll keep you updated with information as it becomes available.

Beta sign up order is irrelevant to the selection process.

They are definitely getting better with the updates like they said they would be.  Would not have expected clarification on this from Tasos so fast.

awsome to hear... im glad to see that they will accept people on randomness also as I'm sure many people(and myself) are just finding out about this game

i hope i get in, i've been following this game since 2004.

A lot of people have been converting lately, but no polar is still very skeptical last i checked, but he knows how to post objectively and offers a lot to the forum.

Also...beta now please.  Right here.  Me.  Over here. No dont look at that guy.  Ship it my way.

Just because a person person doesn't believe the game will be worth a damn, doesn't disqualify them from beta.  You can be the biggest troll on a game's forums and still get selected into closed betas.  It is all about how well you present your hate posts to the developers that decides if you get selected or not.

Believe it or not, many developers out there love to hear from folks in closed beta that absolutely 100% hate their game.  Why?  Because they know they'll hear feed back from those players that will improve the game.  You just have to be a smart enough developer to read thru the whine as to what the player is saying.

Yes, I've been a long time Darkfall Online troll.  You couldn't pick me out on the official forums if you tried.  Saying that, I bet I get selected for beta just because of the way I put together my posts on the official boards.  If I do get selected, great.  If not, that is fine as well.  If they launch, I just hope it isn't another D&L.

Has anything been mentioned about an NDA?

If they do try for an NDA you've got to imagine it will be very difficult for people who do get into a beta to keep quiet about their experiences in view of the years of passion (pro or con) already invested in this game.
