It's funny how every server is full with a queue for Destruction (North America), but there are only a couple for Order that are full, and the rest of med-high. I wonder if it's just because people are trying stuff out, and if it'll be any different come launch. |

Anyone who believes destruction won't outnumber order come launch day is fooling themselves in my opinion :) |

Yeah I guess. :P It's no biggie, though. ALso, I just checked again now, and there are maybe half full and the rest high for Order, and like all full destruction. The only low-med ones are Oceanic. :O |

And you know what? PvP and RvR are no fun without an enemy.

Great, they put in a few caps.
This will work till A) the number of servers keeps going up till the number of players wanting to play order runs out and you end up with a bunch of servers with mostly destruction or B) you stand in a queue half the evening because destro has too many players. C) are forced to reroll Order to play even though you wanted to play Destro |

I don't need to know how to do it better to know that what he suggested is not a fix to population imbalance. |

Now to complain and offer a suggestion would be more constructive and I bet if you provided it as feedback it would hold some more weight to it....at least a little more. Anyhow it is easy to brainstorm solutions and we as the community can brainstorm all we want and who knows something may be heard and looked at by the devs. Sure it takes a little more effort to do such a thing, but shouldn't a prospective buyer or concerned fan at least have some interest on improving the game before it releases? Plus, with open beta you have a golden opportunity to voice your feedback. If you haven't already provided feedback on this issue then you really have no room to whine. Now I'll offer my take on the subject. Perhaps instead of using a system that forces a cap on a overpopulated faction, they should use a recommended realm listing for the servers (i.e. Server Warpstone Recommends new players to make Order characters). Additionally, they could implement a system that gives slight incentives to the underpopulated faction, but it should not give them any combat buffs. Something along the lines that underpopulated faction receives 5percent bonus xp for every 100 players that outnumber them. This bonus would scale up and possibly have a cap, but it would provide incentive to reroll on that server as that realm will have the xp bonus to catch up to the rest of the population. However, I believe that under any circumstance that a debuff should never be applied to the overpopulated realm. It would be best to encourage the players to play a faction rather then to take away things and discourage them to play it. So there you have it. This only took me about several minutes to write up, and it really did not take a whole lot of effort at all. |
