Yep when the trolls and fanbois even give up on the game, that is a bad sign.

Any hope of recovery for Age of Conan will be even more difficult when WAR launches.

WAR isn't great you say? Well that's fine.

Because then Age of Conan has to endure - LOTRO: Mines of Moria, Darkfall beta, EQ/EQ2 expansions, Stargate Worlds beta, and the big one - Wrath of the Lich King.

Age of Conan could recovery easily from any one or two of those. But with those all in succession over the course of the next 4 months, Age of Conan will be hurting badly.

I had high hopes and truly loved the idea and concept of Age of Conan and I hate to see it fail. But seriously, Funcom has to be very concerned at what their subscriber numbers will be come Christmas.

It's to the point now that even those who made it their goal in life to spread a bad word about Funcom have gotten bored and moved on.

When WAR hits the dream is over for AoC.  Too many games coming out soon.  They had their shot.  The market was wide open.  They blew it.

Exactly.

Between Warhammer starting next week, and LOTR big update in November i think as well as WOTLK for WOW in November they have some very stiff competition now.

I know my guild and the guild we were allied with in AOC have all quit to play Warhammer since last Friday and have no desire at all to go back to AoC's revolutionary disaster.

Will be interesting to see what the next couple of months holds for Funcom but its not looking good.

To templarga:

You forgot to mention Aion, although I don't think they will release it inside 2008. Probably early 2009.

So those of you who still play, how are the patches working out? Is Conan improving or are they just jumbling up the location of the bugs?
