Hey all i have just started eve and i have read over a bunch of guides. I really just wanted to know your opinions on a good build for caldari civire (i like the look). I definitely love pvp so i do want to get into it, i just want to make a good solid build with some help.

Base attributes: 6 cha, 5 int, 4 mem, 9 per, 6 will.

Basically 5 attributes to spend, and i am leaning towards merc / soldier. I have looked everywhere but i just can't seem to find a good solid pvp setup guide for the civire.

I am thinking of adding 2 per, 2int and 1 mem (plus the 4 will from merc). How does that sound or should i make improvments? Thanks again ;).

I honestly wouldn't worry a great deal about your stats.  They genuinely don't make a huge deal of difference in the grand scheme unless you wildly imbalance them - and since you're just starting out, that has the potential to cause you some headaches down the road if you gib one stat completely.

I'd personally recommend that you try to even out the stats as much as possible from your starting point.  You'll eventually train as many as 9 (or maybe 10) points of learning skills in whichever stats you think you'll use most - plus get +3 or +4 (eventually maybe +5) to various (or all) stats from implants.  So the couple of points you're allocating now aren't a huge deal.

Be sure that Caldari is the race you want to play (from the standpoint of the ships / weapon types you'll get initial training in) and set a goal ship build you want to work towards.

Some players will suggest training the learning skills immediately.  I'd disagree.  I'd suggest you train skills that give you some combat utility (if you're looking to be a combat type) first - spaceship command, racial frigate, racial weapons, etc.  (If you're smart about initial skill choice you can start out with a lot of these trained quite high off the bat)

Once you've got some good combat utility I'd alternate in some learning skills (up to about level 3) with your other utility skills (Electronics and Engineering) before really settling down to train the learning level 4, 5 and advanced learning skills.

If you're going to be an EVE player on the long term you'll eventually want to have the advanced learning to level 3 or 4 in all fields - but it's not crucial right off the bat.  Make sure you're also training skills that let you actually fly missions or whatever you're going to do to make money.

Welcome to EvE

Short answer - You want as much Perception  (1st priority)  and Willpower (2nd priority) as you can get for a combat oriented character.

**They only allow you to train the weapon and ship skills faster, attribs dont do anything else in EvE.

Civire is the caldari "combat bloodline" so its a fine choice. I would just reccomend adding perc and wp for all your choices during creation.

Well that is like saying every vote doesn't count ;). To me every stat should count for something, i always try to be as efficient as possible especially starting this late in a game.

My final build i am looking at is civere merc. 12 per, 7 int, 10 will, 4 memory. I am such a number cruncher, i have always been that way :P. Thank you for the replies btw! Anyone feel free to comment on the build, tell me like it is.

To be honest, for me it would be crap. I wouldn't care for minmaxing your main character at all, balance everything and raise per/wi by one or two above the rest, remove one or two points from charisma.

You can start minmaxing if you know exactly what the character will do (read: alt-character), but you will probably do different things on your main..

Even for alts, i wouldn't neglect all other attributes just to get some extra points.
