everyone complains that they dont show ui how do we know that they arent going to go with a call of duty 4 style ui ? where pretty much its just your view? and you can press like escape or something to bring up menus for keybindings
?? Sorry if I didnt explain clearly its late and hard to type on a laptop in the dark with no light =/

I am not complaining at all the simpler the better. As long as a lot of the skills are passive and you are getting a benefit from them no really an issue.

because the ui in mmorpgs is much more important then a fps ui, in cod4 ur main goal is to.. shoot ppl :) u dont really need much of a ui for that. in games like DF ur main objective (to advance) is to lvl your skills where u really need a ui for :P

I'm not sure that's really 100% accurate.  Granted, you do need a UI to keep track of your skills and your equipment, but it does seem likely that in DF you won't need much of a UI for combat.  It's possible that the UI spends most of its time in a closed state, only being opened when needed.
