I've been an AO player for over 3 years, as i was watching the latest Video with Earl, i noticed that one of the monster in the video, the devourer, look at lot similar to monsters from Anarchy Online Shadowlands.   And it took me about 2 seconds to find out.

Devourer from Age of Conan :

Anarchy Online shadowland :

So original.... and if you look at the general environement of that new zone it's a LOT and i mean a LOT similar to Anarchy Online.

They wouldn't by chance be using the same artist would they? If so it makes sense, most people in the art industry have a distinctive style, which brings a fluidity to their work. You will see a lot of similarities in different pieces, nothing new there.

I agree with malickie.

Usually the same concept artists will portray similiar artworks in their mmo portfolio. Similiar to ocmic book artists who has the same "look" no matter what the brand or company (McFarland for example)

As an example every picture in my sig was an individual piece of art I drew up. I then scaled them down and cloned them together into a single final piece of work. If you notice they all have the same style, even though I did them all weeks apart.

FunCom is famous for 'recycling', especialy character models and animations. Most of the AO Shadowlands Expansion is old mob models with the colors changed to day-glo.

Ahh the infamous model used by Notum Scourges, The Night Heart, Pandemonium Subjugator, Timid Spectral Scourge, a boss mob in Nascence and probably 2-3 other boss mobs I don't remember at the moment! It is a cool model though!

First, wasnt AO the one that had the player database hacked? And noone was compensated for the lost items / characters?  Secondly, this is the last thing I would give funcom a hard time about. How about like a PVP system as the game was sold as the next big thing in PVP.  How about Dx10, wasnt it supposed to be a Flagship Dx10 game for microsoft?

I was just trying to point out their lack of imagination.  Watching that video it's not just that mob that look similar to the old AO monster, the whole area look like a RIP of the Inferno and Scheol area of Shadowlands.
