War seems to be to WoW, what WoW was to all the previous MMOs. the same thing, just done better. And I for one am sick of the same old thing I'm waiting for Darkfall! no level up system = no grind! Dark fall will be a truly Unique game and I cannot wait!

WAR will be good but it will never reach the player base of WOW. WAR will bring alot of intresting concepts but IMO I think it will be a disappointment. |

I think WAR will be good for WOW. A little challenge in the market will encourage blizzard to improve WOW. WOW has been great for the MMO market - millions more MMO players. WHich means potentially lots more Its also been bad for the MMO market - everyone wants a slice of the $1.5 billion per year WOW pie. So most games are following the same EQ2 / WOW type model. WOW has taken 4 years to reach 10 million players - I dont see WAR getting there overnight. EA & Mythic arent trying to dethrone WOW anyway so why does anyone else care? Play the games you enjoy and dont worry about what other people think. I will be playing WAR. |

It won't beat WoW, and thank god for that. I don't want to play a WORSE version of WoW, its bad enough already. |

Don''t Panic!!!! |
Since the majority of WoW players are in Asia, WAR isn't going to dent that number until it gets over there and if they like it.... Not that matters who's epeen is bigger.

"Here they go again." I have never figured out the mentality that one mmo has to beat out the other. Most of the poeple want to see wow come crashing down don't even play wow. Sure there are some who play wow and are getting tired of the every day grind that is almost ever PVE game. I plan on playing WAR but I am still going to play Wow. Like some have posted before, WAR is mainly PVP oriented while Wow is more PVE. Though Wow offers PVP on the side PVE is the main focus. If you play WOW for the PVP then most likely your the one that will leave. Most PVE players don't want to PVP. Even though the server I play on is PVP most in my guild don't like to PVP. Only a few mention WAR. A few mention they are going to play it and like me will play War but not quite Wow. War and Wow are to mmos which approach mmo gaming from two different ways. War is PVP first while Wow is pve first. Two different player pools. If anything was going to be compete with Wow it would have been AoC, but that did not come close. I do find it funny that on the one hand people say "oh Wow is going to loose its player population." Then the other side goes well they are all Asians as if that is all who play wow. Last I checked my sever still has a stable heavy population that all speaks english. I hope War is as good as everyone says because I think it will fill a nitch in the mmo world that been missing. A very good pvp rvr mmo. That is why I am looking forward to playing it, but I still am going to play wow and hope the WotLK is also a success. One does not have to kill the other. And despite the failure of Funcom I had wished AOC would have been a good game too. Need more mmo success than failures.
