Where did you hear that from?

If 80% of WoW's player base are in countries that WAR isnt even available in then that means that WoW's subscription numbers wont even be scratched by WAR. It also has no bearing whatsoever on the number of players out of that remaining 20% that leave WoW to play WAR.

Maybe it's because WAR isn't GOOD enough to release in asia? ever thought of that? and as for the poster who thinks that his poll here in MMORPG.com actually thinks it counts for something? LOL! epic fail! Most of this website is filled with bitter haters anyway, so it's already a biased poll, these people who hardly qualify as being "the voice of MMO players" let alone objectiveplayers. Fact is, polls stink and polls will always be eschewed one way or another. Nobody can take your 3 week poll seriously unless they're complete idiots or (insert your MMO other than WoW) fanbois.

The best thing that could happen for every one is that WAR and WoW battle it out, it will make both games better.

I have to admit....I didn't read all 20 pages of posts.  I read the title of the OP's post, and the thing that immediately came to mind is:

It's a little EARLY and ENTIRELY unrealistic, to predict WoW losing it's ENTIRE player base.  I mean really....think about it.  There are still people playing the original Everquest.  O.o  So the OP's statement....is really, actually....sort of delusional and even a bit well....stupid.  No offense, of course.

advertising only goes so far. Fact is, if WoW wasn't a good game, they wouldn't have RETAINED that number of subscriptions for long. Take a look at SWG. SWG actually had advertising done for it as well, and yet, that game is DEEEEEAAAAAAAD!

I'll believe it after everyones first thirty, I'm not a WAR basher or a WoW lover, but this debate comes up every other month with every new game that looks shiny and has bells and whistles...    Besides.. who cares..  People who want WoW to die, dont even play it, and people who call the new games failures dont even play or plan on playing them...  So how does it affect you personally?  It doesnt.. ANyway I'm ranting and going off on a tangent, heh, sorry..

My prediction...six months after launch WAR will have will have WELL under 1 million subscribers and will have its subscriber base trending downward. Why ?  The game doesn't have "legs" ......poor rvr....almost nonexistent crafting....poor class development etc etc.The game has no STRONG reason why someone should continue to resubscribe month after month. The other main reason....MYTHIC"S reputation for endless nerf's will be manifest again, as it has been in DAOC and will serve to drive some players out.
