So the title says it all. I am at this time at a crossroads. I personally have had a renewed interest in raiding, but still loving my pvp so what is WAR going to bring me on both ends? I have been in closed beta for War and Open Beta...currently in head start and i must say i do like the game, but I'm still worried about raids and instances. I want to be able to get a group and go run a small dungeon, but have yet to find anything like that. Sure the PQs are great, but not satisfying my thirst at this time. Warhammer has so much to it that i like and WoW now going on 4 years for me is just lackluster. WoW to me is moving too much toward the casual and could be played decently by a brain dead person imo (sarcasm). Anyways, that's about all i have to say on my issue, i am going to place a poll for those of you who are too lazy to post lol. Thanks.

If your looking for the style of Raiding such as WoW & EQ1/2 where you grind your life away for gear ... WAR will not get you that...period. It has dungeons, it has a large encounter but it doesn't have a focus on Raiding...basically anyone can do anything in WAR...no elite content ala Kaplan style. They have several dungeons that begin at Tier 3 and in the Cities for Tier 3 players. They are open world public dungeons ala EQ1 the final BOSS how ever is a Six Man private instance. All Dungeons are this way. There are low level lairs for Tier 1 & 2 but you have to do something special to open some of them and they're level restricted due to being in the RvR areas. |

... So I says, "Supercollider? I just met her!" |
There's also the raids that happen when you capture an enemy city. There's 2 raid spots in each city you have to defeat and capture before you can unlock the fight for the king. Fighting the king is a raid encounter in itself and definately something that'll keep your appetite whet. |

To be perfectly honest, I'd keep playing WoW a couple months longer if you prefer raids and dungeons. Although I realize this game does intend on including some end-game PvE and dungeons (at least I think they mentioned this) 1.) It's main focus is on PvP and 2.) it's a new game. And with all new games it has little end-game PvE, as on the other hand it has plenty of PvP. It won't be until a couple of months from now when everything is at 110% of what this game expects itself to be (not trying to be 300% like AoC did or 25% like almost every other game coming out). At least from a PvE perspective. To be honest I'm having a blast in the PvP though. Overall, if you want a mix of PvP or PvE I would personally suggest WoW until WAR has enough PvE content. Even so, when it does add it's PvE content, I'd stay in WoW if you prefer PvE because I have no doubt in my mind WoW's PvE will be better as that is what it is designed around. If you just like beating the crap out of other people though, keep playing WAR. |

In my honest opinion, If you're a PvE player, WoW wins hands down. if you're a PvP player, WAR wins hands down. |

Either way you lose.. I'm at the same "crossroad" -- its been years.. and years.. I refuse to accept that my idea of the genre has come and past.. Sigh.. either way your going to go play whichever and then try to find ways to play the other-- simply starved for a game.. looking, like a starving hound. |

I've played Eve - and loved it - I go back every so often. I played EQ2 - and USED to go back but can only stick to one fantasy MMORPG at a time. I played CoH and got borred. I played WOW and thought it was fun but got borred fast and never went back. So far, WAR is a blast - more so then WOW ever was. There is an addicitive feel to doing PQ, RVR and Scenerios. playing an engineer and I can only say, what a unique class. TO be honest, its not even close. Try WAR for yourself, you wont regret it. |
