I like playing games with my friends, both RL and online...friends that I've played online game with for years.  As Thursday approached I can to the realization (sadly) that none of them were going to quit WOW  to give WAR even a try.  I've tried to get them to try ANY other game besides WOW...and they refuse.

This isn't meant as a troll.  Merely a comment on the sad state of MMO players' mentality towards other game offerings.  Pretty sad.

I might try WAR later, but right now a lot of the fun will be missing because my friends won't be there.

Sorry but I think that's a dumbass reason not to try a imo great game.  I too have lost friends in mmo's but for the most part we keep in touch by other means and you can as well.  You'll meet plenty of new people in this game, don't let yourself feel restricted to trying a new game because of friends you've met in game that don't want to move on lol.

That is the biggest problem with most WOW players. They never have seen and refuse to see any other game than WoW. I still do not understand then why they think that its the best?

Played: UO, Redmoon, RuneScape, Astonia 3, MU, L2, AO, DAoC, EQ2, WoW, GW, LotRO,Ryzom, VG, EVE, Wurm, WAR
Tested(Beta): L1, LoM, L2, WoW, VG, WAR, TCoS.
UO is the only game that still miss me :(

I feel ya OP, I play both and noone on my server left either, out of 130 players in my guild not a single one left for WAR.

It is sad, but WoW is still better than WAR. WAR is a blast, better pvp combat in WAR, much better than the arena in WoW. WoW as of right now is just a all around better game. More polished, more established game with MUCH better PvE content than WAR. That is harsh but just the simple truth of the matter.

I will continue to play both, WoW for PvE and raiding and WAR for the RvR.

If I had to choose though, and someone said you could only play one.... WoW would win out on this one. As much as I want something new, WoW is just the better game.

I might be off base but I'm not sure that "quitting" would be good for them.  I don't know why they wouldn't try the game out unless they did not want to spend the money on just trying it out.  The WoTLK is going to keep most hard core WoW players in the game so they can see the expansion.  I don't see anything in the xpansion that really blows me away so I gave WAR a try.

The suspense is terrible. I hope it will last.

QFT!

Anyways I was a victim of peer pressure when it came to choosing what faction we would roll on WAR.

But I did it anyways and enjoying the game, cause I wasnt closed minded.

But to put off a game you want to try because your friends dont want to do is not acceptable in my book.

Try the game for yourself, make some new friends, try a new guild, get out of the same situation.

There is a old saying, Friends that are brave and true, F*ck them before they F*ck you!

Yeah I know its kinda harsh and you can take that saying with a grain of salt.

But I will be damned if I had to take advice from a closed minded friend 'S' the selfish bastards! Your not

like asking all to jump ship, just maybe 1 or 2 that want to give the game a whirl.

Waiting for Earthrise, Stargate Worlds, Fallen Earth, Mortal Online, Darkfall and WAR 40K Online.

If they're still pleased with wow then more power to them.  Just because so many of us here have become jaded doesn't mean that everyone is.  People need to remember that wow truly is a great game.  It just doesn't have enough content for those of us who are a bit more hardcore then the rest of the (vast majority) casual community.  If I played wow casually, I don't doubt I'd still be playing it too, and wouldn't have much of a reason to leave.

That being said, WAR is WOW with a pvp focus.  At least that's what I've noticed up until level 12, so take my opinion as you will.
