this is exactly what's going to happen:

There will be lots of people jumping into the free test period to see what's up. They may even get lots of players off the bat.

Then after about a month the people that din't like it will be long gone and will never look back.

Then a little while after that when the "newness" starts to wear off and the people that get tired of the mindless repetative combat will also leave and never look back.

At about 6 months the player base will be no more than a few thousand accounts and in a years time the game will either go Free to play or shut down completely.

Everything you have said is nothing more than opinions, with lack of knowledge and intelligence about the game. (The key word you said yourself, "assuming") You lack the knowledge and training, based on the game itself. You have no real clue on the actual gameplay and the gaming experience, seeming you have never even played Darkfall. Therefore, my friend, you are totally unaware of just what the outcome of this game is really going to be.

if the gameplay is good, the game will not fail. there are more than enough players around who want real PVP and are sick of replaying the same scenarios and BGs in themepark games.

if the PVE and crafting are also good and griefing your own race is kept in check then this game could become very popular.

that is all.

I don't understand OP's grudge with Darkfall, nor him being here at MMORPG.com.

He does no play MMORPG's, so why is he here? Simple, to start an arguement since he's miserable about his life and must find some fullfillment.

Either we just ignore him or we help him by feeding him crap so his wrists stays intact.

Let's go into what a convertible bond is:

A bond is simply a loan, but in the form of a security, although terminology used is rather different. The issuer is equivalent to the borrower, the bond holder to the lender, and the coupon to the interest. Bonds enable the issuer to finance long-term investments with external funds. 

Also:

Convertible bonds allow issuers to issue debt at a relatively low cost. Typically, a convertible bond at issue may yield 1pct to 3pct less than what straight debt would yield.

Now lets go into what a convertible bond loan is: a loan through a bank with which to issue convertible bonds. In other words, they may issue convertible bonds up to 20mil euros through marfin bank. If I buy a car through a bank, that is taking a loan out to buy a car. So, ultimately, they've taken out a 20mil loan in that they can raise money (effectively for free at present though they'll be liable long-term) through that loan, and purchasers of those bonds can convert their bonds into stocks or can continue to earn revenue from them regardless. It belies your argument that the company is too small to succeed, because they are at least worth 20 mil on paper regardless of whether they've sold those bonds or are holding onto them... your quote states that a company has to be able to come up with 2.5 mil or so to succeed, as I prove further down they've already done that, they have to have more just to run the MMO, and they're worth 20mil on paper and have thus been enabled to raise that amount relatively easily for at least a full year.

On to the rest of your fail:

Yes I am "Fail Troll" because I pointed out the obvious uphill battle that this thing is going to face IF it ever actually sees the light of day. Hilarious. Which is still HEAVILY in question 3 months before it's supposed to launch..

Hmm eve online has more subscribers than ever, 250,000, which at 14.99 a month is 3,747,500 a month. Hell, UO has that many players. Darkfall will be at least tried by the 100,000 plus that have signed up on the forums (that's not including people that have left the forums) which means that it will start with more players than EvE did. All it has to do is not suck and it can keep a player base like that. It's not exactly a harsh market to be in. 

The only failure I see here is you for pulling numbers straight out of your ass and trying to pass it off as fact when in reality there is nothing anywhere that says how much Aventurine spent on developing this.

This game has yet to show that 95% of it's feature list even EXISTS and it's launching in 3 months?

Wow, 95%, really? Are you a math major at Fail University?

17 minutes of ingame footage shows a great deal of the features of the game implemented. Most of the ones it doesn't show are the easiest features to have in a game. What, are you worried it doesn't have FFA loot because it doesn't show someone being looted? Name any of the main features, they're in there. 

Not even at this point has any credible editor even played this game or been invited to play and report on it publically. I wonder why???

I mean damn.. if it's so freakin A-mazing you would think that they would have every editor and gaming mag reporting on it 24/7 this close to a launch.

I see no pre launch hype.. all I see is more bullshit from the fanboys and the same from the devs.

If this game got the same hype as AoC with the servers in America just beginning installation and no pre-established expertise in running an MMO it would likely not bode well. A rush on servers does not a great first impression make, and it's harder to scale your servers down because of a fleeing fanbase than work your way up into one. Additionally, no game editors were invited to play AoC at first; they were put in rooms where they got to watch gameplay footage. Guess what? There's a 17 minute gameplay trailer that shows more than the leaked AoC conference gameplay vids did. 

Oh and thanks for the personal mail. I've got all day to sit here and shoot trolls, and now I've pissed one off to the point he's getting personal. Must be getting stuffy in mommy's basement.

After repeating that empty statement for 10000 times are you not tired?  Stop preaching one line bashing statement.  Tell us what features are lacking that matters to you.  Of the many things WoW implemented, how you do not like it.

Sandboxers are totally ridiculous and inconsistent people.  They want a sandbox without restrictions, basically they just want a graphically painted world with nothing else so they can create their own content.  Yet, when they run into the most popular MMO that scares the hell out of their chicken minds, they criticise WoW on what grounds?  Lacking features?

WoW is the game right now with the largest followers.  O
