I say Vanguard: Saga of Heroes should be without monthly fee. In that way a lot more people will buy the game and play it. Like Guild Wars.

No vanguard should be without working servers. That way this game can go to the way side and SoE can focus on a new fantasy MMO called Everquest 3.

That would be a stupid thing for them to do.

Goldknyght your opinion of  Vanguard is irrelevant

The game rocks and is seeing a resurgence

No they shouldn't drop the monthly fee ...thats not the way SOE runs its business. The money is used for redevelopment and keeps the community I think one of the best ones in the general MMO forums

it's not worth the $15 USD you pay for it, definitely. When compared to better MMORPG's that are on the market.

Especially when you consider how small the developmen team is that is currently "supporting" the game.  Especially when you consider how few and far between updates to the game are made, and how little content each update brings when much more needs to be done to improve the caliber of the player's experience.
Especially when you consider how unfinished this game still is, over a year and a half after it launched.

About 15 dollars a month is standard for most US based MMORPGs.  VG is a substandard game in its current state.  Therefore a lower subscription fee I feel is highly warranted in this case.

I'd have to differ with you.  I think VG is one of the best games on the market right now.  No matter what game I play or try to play I'm constantly feeling drawn back to VG.  As for content it has more content then most games.  Updates aren't as big or frequent as some games but still I'm playing for a quality game and VG definitely delivers in that reguard today.

The only way Sony would make it free was if they added an item mall so players could buy mounts, armour and weapons for real cash. This is normal for a lot of the free MMO's out there right now.

Hmm, so tell me How GW2 is able to come out with a FREE 2 Play Model next year, with a persistent World just like Vanguard, Notice the word Free, and you can bet an NCSOFT game like GW2 will be polished, just like GW was, when it was first launched, SOE is just trying to Recoupe some of their money that Brad the dumb@@@ spent on Drugs, EPIC FAIL....

There is another question aswell.

Tell us why there even are any P2P games at all when GW2 (and GW for that matter) is able to come out next year with a free too play model?

I'm so broke.
I can't even pay attention.

I tried to play this game with a single core processor at the start of this year and it was terrible.

Since then I've installed an E7200 dual-core (pretty low budget) and a new motherboard. I went back to it yesterday and between my modifications and the improvements made by the developers, the change is very noticeable indeed.

You're always going to get people flaming this game. I suspect a lot of them are trying to play it on sub-par machines - they can't manage it and then they come on here ranting about how awful it is.

It does have problems, there's no doubt about that but big strides have been made, very definitely, and if you have a reasonably good machine with a DC processor and at least a couple of gigs of RAM, it's worth trying - particularly if you haven't looked at it in a year or more.

Is this your opinion or do you have evidence to back this up?

Because, over the past 1.5 yrs I have tried this game 3 times.  Longest I lasted was 4 months.  Last time I tried was after AoC bombed in May/08.  While I was playing (in May/08) here is what i experienced.

-Race based classes

-Ugly and limited character design

-Broken quest lines at level 4.  Halagan starting area.

-4 (thats right 4)  servers.

-Terrible and clunky UI, not very customizable.

In my opinion,

Its very buggy and ugly. This game never rocked, it doesnt rock now, and it probably never will.  All the "resurgence" talk is just desperate lies and I fell for it back in May but never again.

 RIP VG
