........... so I have decided to swap sides. Destruction outnumber Order quite a bit on some shards so I have decided to send my Black Orc on vacation for a while and help out the squishies. Seeing as I like to tank I first off chose a Dwarf fella, but couldnt get on with the starting area, its like a bloody maze and I got frustrated a bit trying to find all the q locations etc. Yes I know I have the attention span of a gnat but I cant help it.

So that just left the Elves, I hate Elves ...... with a passion. But I had set myself out on this road so I felt I had to see it through. So I have rolled a Swordmaster or what ever he is called. He looks like a girl, no matter how much I tried I couldnt make him look manly ..... at all. So I gritted my teeth rolled a random looking toon and a random name and logged in.

To be honest I was pleasently supprised by how he plays, he can hit pretty hard with his 2h sword and has some pretty decent specials and when you finally get some gear for him he looks pretty bad ass in a way. No crappy looking armour and sheild like my BO for this fella, everything looks like its been forged by a craftsman and looks pretty cool (the sheild especially looks very nice although the toon looks like he will have probs seeing around the thing as it is huge!) I find myself enjoying playing as an elf, I know I'm ashamed to admit it, and feel that maybe Order was neglected a bit because of the tank choices we were given, not as many people are going to be happy to play a Dwarf or a Elf as say a Knight of the Blazing Sun.

My point is dont be put off my having to play an Elf, its really not that bad once you get past the pretty boy exterior there beats the heart of a warrior.

How he plays in PvP i dont know yet as I havent taken him into battle against other players yet but things are looking promising.

Warhammer Offline: Age of Registration

Yeh i tried it but i guess like others we just wanted to play a knight in shinning armour. How hard was it for them to make a class from the many knight orders in the old world? Knights of the Blazing Sun, Knights of the White Wolf...dont care really just not a girl or a lump of metal.

KotBS is going to be released soon.... I myself have picked up 2 pieces of KotBS armour.

Also, on our server Eltharion, it's pretty much balanced... with Order winning just a bit more than Destro.

I know what you mean, my intention was to roll a Knight and then they binned the class and I was gutted. So like many others I rolled destruction to get a decent tank. But saying that Elves arnt as bad as I thought they would be, although they do seem whiny little biatches if you read the q text. No wonder the dark Elves want rid of the buggers.

By the way the Order of the White Wolf would have been a better choice than the Blazing Sun in my opinion, they look bad ass.

I too rolled Order on a new server. I tried Witch Hunter, and soon found a friendly guild. However I got a bit annoyed at the total lack of tanks on our side and the sight of something like 3:1 ratio of tanks/other dest classes in the destruction ranks, so I made a Swordmaster

I cut straight to the chase and made him an actual girly elf and totaly enjoy the play style. Having also tried;

Squig Herder - very squishy

Sorcerer - Very nice indeed

to 11+ on each of those and my witch hunter, it's great fun playing as a SM. I like the graceful sweeping moves, and the change in balance that allows certian skills is a brilliant touch. Found myself some nice armour and a cape, looks great.

Order has two problems...

Insufficient number of tanks, and a lot of people echo the above posters in that elves and dwarves are not for them.  The decision to remove the human tank was just horrible, and has had consequences for sure.  In the human tier one scenarios it is common to not have any tanks at all while destruction has at least 4 to 5 each time.

The second problem is that for whatever reason this game is the worst I've ever seen for incompetent healers, especially on the order side.  It is not that the classes can't heal, it is that most players chose not to heal... they either fancy themselves mock tanks or nukers.  They will let their few tanks and other healers die without tossing a single heal while they concentrate on DPS.

I would not blame many of the order tanks on my server if they simply gave up, because they will try to stabilize a situation and get no support from the 4 or 5 healers around them who each seem to be DPS'ing their own individual targets.

There is a shortage of tanks for order on my server.  There is not a shortage of healers, but many of them are pretty much worthless in RvR, or groups.  Destruction seems to be working a bit more as intended, the only silliness I see on the destruction side is melee DPS players being too wreckless and going beyond their healing support... becoming easy kills which hurts their side.

Just played a few scenarios with my tank, and you are right. Its not that there are no healers its just that they dont heal. Played one scenario with a Warrior Priest on my team and he did not throw out one heal, not one. Trouble is they are geared towards front line combat and I think they get so caught up in that they forget to heal the tanks. When there is more than one tanks on an order team you can win scenarios but without  healers doing their job its just a waste of time.

When I played on destruction healers healed and thats why they win so often, my advise to Order healers is stay out of combat ( unless you are a WP ) and heal the tanks, you still get points even if you dont kill anything and we will win more often. If there is one tank on the team keep throwing heals at him, tends to suck in their tanks and then the main tank can drop them. Very hard to do in the heat of combat I know but nothing pisses a tank off more than healers not doing their job.
