The optimization.

The graphics are so so, the animations are weak, then why the hell does it lag like crap whenever there are 50 people on my screen?

I have a high end computer, can't imagine how it is for those with less luck, but sieges are almost unplayable, and I see no reason for that to be honest.

No one in this world can you trust. Not men, women, or beasts.[Points to sword] This you can trust.

From what I hear it random on peopels machines.. a mix of hardware, OS, memory. a combo of al lthat that can cause problems.

Two peopel with similar specs seem to get different performance.. greatly.

I woudl assume running XP with 2 gigs of ram, 512 meg video card, shoudl perform quite well  as long as you have a 2.3ghz Duo Core or 3800+ processor

latest Direct X, Sound Video and Mother board drivers

No doubt, what is up with the lag and low rez. I have no problem with low rez as long as it runs well keeps me involved but it is not. I left Eve because of game stopping lag I hope that dosen't happen with WAR. Why invest all that time, effort and money for RvR and when you play in large battles the client freezes for multiple seconds and only comes back at the respawn screen. I hope DF dosen't have that problem but probably will.

Are you running the game off of the Beta Client?

If so reinstall it with the game disks.

If not, take your View Distance and switch it to the minimum. I have a high end machine and upon reducing the VD and leaving everything maxed out (as well as forced AA) I run very smoothly.

When I run on max settings with the view distance maxed it stutters upon having 50+ people in view.

Running the beta client is going to get you worse graphics and more lag.

Install the final release disc you have asap, it offers a huge improvement on smoothness and graphics, at least from what i can tell.

My specs suck and I dont have any issues with lag except when my connection gets slow; and obviously Mythic cant do anything about that... damn Optium Online...damn them.

I downloaded mine from D2D and I think it was still the beta client. I figured you could patch to the retail client but I could be wrong.   I just checked D2D and the download is 10.97gigs and the beta download was 9.3.  Im going to download this one and do a reinstall and see if I notice anything different.  Im getting good performance as is but hopefully I'll get better with this.

Playing Guild Wars. Waiting for Fallen Earth and SE new MMO.

I'm running from the beta client and have absolutely no lag whatsoever. Only using a core 2 duo 2.1ghz 4gigs ram 8800gt on vista. Always used high res and no matter the people, it runs the same for me.

Haven't really heard that about the beta client to discs you get. I just patched and worked perfectly.

Hmm... could be RAM then?

I got  4 gigs but i'm still on the old XP (don't ask...) which adreses up to 2.5 gigs. I noticed game stuttering and lagging during keep sieges at say 50-100 people in near vicinity.

That could be the thing imo. I'll try to find an upgrade to XP 64 bit soon and see whats the performance then (sorry, but there's no way in hell I'll let vista on my pc).

Lol, that would be something if war required 4 gigs to run smoothly all the way.. Thankfully RAM is dirt-cheap nowadays but still, 4 gigs is a lot.

Oh and btw, this talk of beta client.. Does this apply to open beta or just the old beta one? If it does I'll reinstall from disks and see what's the score.
