Get enormous lag spikes and slideshows in RvR when the graphical settings are set to Fastest Framerate.

What garbage of a game.

You know, I have right around the same specs. Except my video card is an 8600 GT, and I also get alot of slideshow/stuttering/lagging almost anywhere.

I wish this was fixable. But it doesnt seem like it is, unless you build a new computer. I'm actually thinking it might be an issue with too little ram. Probably going up to 4 GB might help, considering I've noticed War itself takes up about 1 gb while running, and Vista probably takes up about that much running too. But I dunno.

If you''re going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you''re going to be locked up.

Man that sucks that you get that bad of performace on the lowest settings.   WAR takes up over a gig on my system and I have 4 gigs of ram.  I get kinda slow in RvR but its not a slideshow or anything like that.

I have an Intel 8400 and an ATI 4850.   Some get good performance on  lower end computers some don't same goes for higher end computers. But like Mythic said in the patchnotes today they are always working on performance and stability issues.

Playing Guild Wars. Waiting for Fallen Earth and SE new MMO.

It's a problem with a lot of people with different operating systems, graphics cards, motherboards, etc. Right now you just have to hope for a patch and maybe check the warhammeralliance user support forum to see if someone comes up with a solution, there are a lot of threads on performance issues over there.

I run with Vista 32,

AMD 5000+ 2.6Ghz dual core

4Gb Ram

GeForce 8600GT and it runs like a dream. In heavy RvR keep sieges it does get laggy and I drop to probably 5-6 fps but other then that runs at a stable 30+ fps.

If the lags are mostly during RVR, keeps etc, use Buff Throttle:

http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/buffthrottle.aspx

Subscribtions: WOW, EVE, WAR, DDO, VG, AOC, COV, FFXI, GW, RFO
+plenty of F2P, betas, trials

On my radar: Earthrise, DF, Mortal Online, JG: Evolution

Close to slide show for me too before I quit. Didn't think that was going to be an issue since they went the extra mile to make it low quality graphics. Oh well...back to Vanguard I go. At least I can run it way better.

I definitely understand your frustration, I have basically the same PC and I also get some spikes in performance from time to time... that said, be patient. The game's only been out a week and the devs are still tweaking performance loads and ironing out the bugs. Believe it or not Im an actual QA engineer (although not with Mythic) so things just won't all be fixed overnight.

That said, the game is in great shape for just coming out. I've had relatively little bugs and although the spikes in framerate are annoying I have a lot of faith that will be worked out in the next few weeks. I first rolled on a low pop server and I didn't experience half the problems... I think its mostly for the fuller servers (although I could be wrong)...

Odd, that's a rigg that should be able to run so good as any game and WARs graphics aren't high as crysis or something.

Do you have the same problem in any other game? Try to close down any programs in the background except the firewall. Is a nice program called "easycleaner" thats free and good for optimising the computer, it have a setting so you can se and edit all junk that start with windows.

You do have the latest drivers right? And have checked for spyware?

I'm not saying it is you'r computers fault but that's easier to check and optimise than Mythics programing.

I dont feel sorry for you OP because you just go out and say ''this game sucks'' bla bla bla I put my settings to fastest framerate and I get lag spike......

Have you try updating your vid card driver? sound card driver? defrag system?Maybe its your internet connection that is to slow? etc etc . Because I am sorry but I play the damn game on a p4 2.6ghz with 1gig of ram and a ati x1600 pro 256mg and the game run smooth as hell, pvp , pve , anywhere.

Im so fucking tired of these post about how this game suck because of this or that, most people have no issue and when someone complain about a freaking /ignore bug ,thats because your are just trying to FIND something wrong with the game...

Might as well say man, this game is so buggy, when I cast with my bright wizard I take damage , can't they fix this???

Oh yea, before I forgot, to smooth thing up a little more, remove name tag over people heads, it help a lot.
