I was wondering whether anyone here could help me.


When I download the Vanguard trial from the official website, I have to install the Station Launcher first. The problem is that the launcher gets stuck on downloading file 3/10. After a few minutes I get an error message stating that the files were inaccessible because I lack sufficient permissions. 


I'm logged in as an administrator and I have disabled all firewalls. I really have no clue as to what the issue could be. I experience the same issue trying to install Everquest II. Running Windows XP SP3 (tried EQII with SP2).

Hmm how about just bypassing the sony download altogether and finding a torrent of it?

Don't know if you can run it?

The station launcher is just a reskined internet explorer, so if you exporere is not working no VG.

Just found this old link, its the old vanguard installer  (no station launcher) download page, I used this link myself in june when they did the come back promotion.

 

vanguard.station.sony.com/install/

Will that link download the entire client or just the trial? Apparently the trial is only a 1 gig download as opposed to the actual client being much larger. I'm on a data cap you see

Sorry yes it will download the entire game, it's all I can think of currently.

I had the same problem with the station launcher a while back to, same thing happened with every game...it kept missing out complete patches....the only way I was able to solve it was to create shortcuts for each  game and dump the station launcher.

No problem, thanks anyway. 


I've posted on the official forum. Let's hope they can somehow help me before the end of the month. I need to download it before then otherwise my data cap resets. They don't cap me on the last day of the month
