"The who increases knowledge, increases sorrow." /Bible

I run a small guild. 30-40 active players, most of us are under level 20.

What is an okay % to have as tax for a normal guild like this in your opinion? I currently have 1% but we did some calculations and was thinking to increase to 5%. Bad part is as i started with such a low tax this change going to seem huge for the members. Have talked to some and none really see 5 as a bad % to tax on, but want to hear what the public says about things like this.

Of course this varies on what type of guild you are in and what the goals of the guild are.

Forum Poll

What tax % is max for you?

0% - No taxes!
1-5% - Low and good
6-10% - I can spare a tenth of what I make
11-20% - The guilds need it, so why not
21-30% - Starts to be noticable but guild gains a lot
31-40% - Very noticable but guild needs the money.
41-50% - Half my money to guild, half to me!
51-70% - Guild before individuals!
71-95% - The guild pays all my needs!
96-100% - Guild covers all it's members, gear, pots and so on.

What does the Guild need taxes for in Warhammer? Other games I can see it but havn't seen where money is really an issue in War.

For us in our guild its used for rvr stuff, standards and the like so individuals dont have to pay when the guild goes to war.

Semper Fi!

We use 5%, that works perfectly. You hardly notice it and guild gets enough coins also.

Considering how easy it is to make money in this game without having to put forth to much effort, I would probably say 5%-6% is a reasonable level given the size of the guild. The trash loot you receive just randomly killing things nets a decent profit in a short amount of time. In just 2 days of playing made 25g on just random armor to the AH and vendor junk.

Happy New Year!

i have never believed in guild taxes or forcing people to pay them if you do have them but i guess it would be different in WAR, in other games money gets built up for the guild from raiding, not sure how else a guild in WAR would have money unless people pitched in.

Our guild has it set at 2%, and the individual can set there tithe.  I have my tithe set at 15%, I think some other guildies have their tithe at 25 to 30%

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional.
