Great Questions OP as I would like to find this stuff out as well...........
Saw one pic on another Thread today and I must say that the Toons look much better then those "marionnettes" floppy animations that they were at one time..........I just may take up the 30 free days to try it out again just for the heck of it? |

1. Are there any ship combat in the game yet? nope... even if devs are working on galeons and ship content it seem, still no idea if it will mean even some ship combat
swimming is ok :)
population is ok, sure there are not lots of people who play VG but also the server are few so there is no "ghost town", is not difficult to find groups for the major dungeons or questline and there is a lot of chit chatting on the regional ooc channel too :P. also i think that in past months the population grew so thats a good sign :)
well... some animations are good, but i agree that some are quite bad, it seem that they are going to work on them for around xmass (think i read a post about that) so... crossing fingers :p
is the same, but i think the complexity is a good thing here, imo you cant have a good crafting system with a simplified crafting model... just look at SWG pre and post NGE. first time i tried it, was a bit clueless too but is just matter of practice and to get used to it :)
yep, is pretty similar in concept, you start in this isle and there are some storylines that introduce you to the game, while on the isle you are capped at lv10

Allow me to attempt to answer your underlying question...what has changed since beta. FPS and stability are by far the number #1 improvement. Content has been added. Classes have had a hard pass. High level Raid and group content have been added. Character models were redone to reduce the performance hit and tweak the asthetics. Crafting is polished. Diplomacy is starting to get polished. IoD has polished diplomacy. The community has voiced lack of challenging content which was responded by the devs with challenging griffin quests and challenging Raid content. The community at one point was quite bitter and venomous. When AoC came out, they left and a mature friendly community remains and has grown at quite a surprising rate. All PvE servers are now reading Medium Population levels. This is a major milestone and one that will continue to grow. The Free Trial is now available and with it, many new subscribers. What's lacking now you ask? More high level content. The next Game Updates will contain just that. If your new or returning, now is a great time to come. If you have a max player on VG and left, wait till the next Game Update which is due in October. |

thank you everyone for the nice answers, and i do like them :-) I see some of u say its easy to quest.. i remember i always had "group quests" and was very hard to quest on my own or just with a friend, has it changed? i mean so u can quest alot now so,o or just with a group of 2? I sur hope so, but that was a major letdown what server should i join for a nice porpulated server? |

actually many soloable quests where introduced from release ab example is URT that is a nice and fun line :) with many quests and good rewards for "lowbies" also some midlevel and highlevel areas where introduces and have lot of quests for soloers well... personally i will still suggest to go for group content (i hate solo :P) but you should be able to level no prob doing solo quests
for server... if you are euro and play in eu time then go with halgar (the eu server) if not probably seradon have a bit higher population
