Now I am sad.

I only played my Bear Shaman to lvl 31. In all my years as a gamer, the Bear Shaman is without a doubt my favorite class.I loved the graphics. I loved the performance. I loved the European feel of the game like the Gothic series. I loved the combat, the quests everything else. The only issue I had was the 4k lag spikes. Are these still around?

I really liked this game.
Then people started leaving, so I did too.

I watched Funcom stocks and wanted them to fail. Why? Why would I want this?

Now I am playing Warhammer. I have left WoW in the dust. Tried Ryzom for a week and enjoyed it, but after a while I logged on and said, "what next"? Warhammer is an amazing game with some brutal performance issues that unless fixed, I will not re-subscribe.

So why did I leave AoC? Was it a wrong decision? Was I a lemming? I mean, if you are enjoying something, who cares what people think? This new patch looks amazing..

Should I think about coming back?

So what are you doing in WAR, a game which 60% of the players will leave in 6 weeks?

Lasting of WAR for intelligent people: 7 days.

Lasting appeal for the blind hate ones: 2 months.

Lasting appeal for the Johnnys among us: forever.

Do YOU want to be called a Johnny ?

well im planning to go back to aoc as well but im waiting till at least 80% of the stuff they promissed is on the live server including dx10, ymirs pass, tarantia common, consequences system along with finally fixed stuff like gear and end tier raids and sieges

im not paying them for developing stuff that should have been in the game in the first place but im willing to pay them (again) after they produced the stuff they have on their ToDo list

the lack of new things to do for me (80,50, 40chars) leads me to see aoc a bit more as a singel player game where i pay for an expansion rather then a mmo i subscribe to monthly

so in short you should come back once you feel they made enough improvements to the game to hand over your money again. staying on the failcom train forever tough might let you miss out a great game IF they progress as they planned.

Somehow I knew in hell there would be mushrooms.

Don't pay attention to bodypass/memoir/teamfortress/whateverelse he goes by. He hates anything without a blizzard logo. Check his post history.

If you enjoyed AoC that much, then yes! Go back and have fun with it.

If you really liked the game, youll come back at some point.

I played Vanguard on release and it sucked hard. I told all my friends not to waste their money on it. It was as bad as everyone said performance wise. It had so many problems, I dont even think it qualified as an actual game. But the couple times when the moon aligned, and the planets were in sync and all the bugs happened to click "off" at the same time, Vanguard was the best visual, combat style game I played in a long time. The prob was the planets only aligned like.. once a week so I quit.

I played this, that, and the other thing since then. And while games like Wow was extremely polished and bug free mostly, it didnt have the same appeal after time.I always saw that Vanguard box in my closet but never would pull it out.

Well, recently after they made that new Isle I went back to look around. And lo and behold, its significantly better. I can now see things coming together in there. The gameplay is still as crisp as before (battle mechanics) and the vistas are still good. The problem is, looks like quite a few peoplehad ran from that burning wreck and don't know that the fire is out now. When they do, and Vanguard fixes it stuff over 90-95% this game will be all I wanted it to be. Very few pvp personality types and all community, questing, crafting.

If you really like Aoc, you can keep playing and build your character up. You may be rewarded later if they get it together. If they dont, meh. You just played 6 months but had fun while it lasted.

But if they do fix it up, youll see a lot of people sneaking back in to look around. Cause the word was... it was a good game package wise, just had no real implementation. If they can actually FIX the stuff, people will come back. It has too much potential for them to not; whether Funcom lied or not. If the game is better eventually than Warhammer or Darkfall or whatever, people will come back.

They say they wont now, but if Funcom make things right game wise, all is forgiven. True gamers are after all, gamers.

A true story:

Mythic Community Coordinator: "I'll reiterate this again; Hundreds of players will still be able to participate in Fortress sieges. Most sieges that we've seen in the last 3 weeks have not exceeded the cap we have implemented. Now go destroy each other (in game) and tell us how it was!"

Warhammer Forum poster: "So if most sieges you have seen haven't exceeded the cap and they are crashing then wtf is the point of this fix?"

If you really like a game then I don't see why you would quit. It is more important to have fun than anything else about gaming.

Let me guess, you listen to R'nB and pop music also? Stop trying to be like everyone else, that works in school but once you reach adulthood theres really no point.

If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective.

This is only my personal opinion, and you dont have to do what I say.

While I think you should follow your pure heart playing AoC, I will tell you that your paying a scam company every month. If this is what you like to support, then be it. They recharged new months from people who did not have their subscription run out by far. They lied about what the game contained from the start. They kept information secret before release. The support was awful for me and reported by many other people.

Bottom line, do as you heart desire. I would have felt awful if I payed into the corruption.

looking at their XFire figures they are holding pretty steady and have been since launch peak. By this time in it's life cycle AoC was well into a nosedive. For what it is worth I could not stand WoWHammer myself, did not make it six hours in the game let alone six weeks, but that is just me. Apparently a lot of people like it so good for them and Mythic I say.
