If WoW has this supposed terrible community, why is the trolling always directed at WoW and not away from WoW by it's apparent terrible players (considering there are so many of them)?

Me thinks some people have serious chips on their shoulders.

WoW has a community, plain and simple :)

Some of it bad, most of it good, but of course very little is written about the positive and so it seems people would only concentrate on the negative for the most part.

That being said, it always amazes me the amount of time that people who claim to not like the game spend on it's forums, but each to their own i suppose.

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

No.   If by plenty you mean, a drop in an ocean of negativity from a community of people miserable with MMORPGs in general, then yes... plenty.  But we drown in the fallacies of Britney Spears and McDonalds analogies by those who think they're more mature just because they play a MMORPG that isn't called WoW.

WoW players are the target of endless jibes and hatred here, it's quite sickening.  The amount of times I've been called a WoW kiddie or a simpleton, directly in and indirectly, or just generally put down for enjoying for a >insert derogatory comment here< game, makes me question the long-term survivabilty of the human race.

Then I remember that this is just a very tiny, unhappy minority, and that WoW players are in fact the norm, and I feel better.  I half expect to see the World of Warcraft category dissapear from this site because the moderators are notorious for letting all the anti-WoW comments here fly, despite it being against the rules of conduct here.

For example, there's a geniune thread here titled 'Most embarrasing moment in WoW' or similar, and one of the first comments is of course something like ' MY MOST EMBARRASING MOMENT WAS PLAYING THE GAME LOLOLOLOL".

I don't know why WoW players have this stigma attached when we are probably the most mature people on this site imho.   It's wrong to generalize of course, but I am so used to it on this site, people categorizing people based on the game they play, it's utterly ridiculous.

WoW players are not WoW players, we are MMORPG players and by the looks of things, we seem to be the happiest MMORPG players at the moment.   We are also the minority on this site, which for a site with so much negative bitching, has to make you wonder what are people's real motivations for their hate?

Its because your in the wow forums, come to the warhammer or Darkfall, really any new p2p mmo...youll see the other side of why the wow crowd is notorious.

Honestly a lof trolling are ex wow players who are now war or AoC, even Darkfall lovers now.

Honestly before wow came out, most mmo players loved to see good game released,  most games that where new where pretty much treated with respect.  Things are very diffrent now than back then.

But seriously, right now the warhammer forum is the best example for why the wow community gets this reputation.

i think one of the main reasons WOW is so "hated" is because there are so many little kids playing it bitching about the other faction....hell on draka this morning there was some...im guessing 8 or 9 year old...on the horde...saying horde sucks an ally are better....players come to wow, see people acting like that and assume everyone is...where as the majority of players who only like one faction..stick to that faction and spend less time complaining about the others......but we'll just have to deal with everyone being ageinst us...for the most part, its even WOW players VRS WOW players....damn children thinking they're so much better then you just because they picked the "good" side and their bones arent exposed...flesh isent rotting...and they dont have maggots living in their eyeballs.

sincerly, thanos - player from the underworld

Of course I travel to other forums. I just never see WoW players trolling other games. It's always the players of other games trolling WoW.

I think the problem is that MMOs have become mass market and people think it's cool to jump on the "I hate WoW" bandwagon - at least on forums not dedicated to WoW. It's most likely jealousy that the suppose
