For the enjoyment of all players and the health of the game, they need to merge the low-med pop servers in order to ensure ALL servers reach high during prime time for their region. Server pops and large scale guild activity will be the lifeblood of this game. Mythic is not helping matters by allowing the low pop servers to languish in inactivity and boredom. For the sake of the game and the community, merge them now and create a core of high pop active servers while the game is new.

They can add new servers over time and allow moves from multiple servers with an eye on maintaining levels across them all.

?

I agree.

The servers seem so dead, and they should really think about having more people on just one server, not trying to spread them out amoungst other servers.

Groovy.

Already? You don't think they fill up, the game is just out still...

Or do you feel the server pop is decreasing?

Maybe they should add a feature that either you can choose a server and if youre not you'll automaticly get put on server nr1 until it's full and then the next one... Guilds could still chose the same srver but the rest would be put on a full one.

OK, i dont understand much about the technical side of things, so could someone explain to me why there should ever be a queue to get on a server..this seems rediculous to me, surely the cap of players allowed on to a server should have allowed for the amount trying to get on at the same time and they have just got the ballance wrong.

This logic is specifically why I said to "Forget MMO trends". Regardless of how many new players come along or how many leave, the objective for Mythic should be to give current customers the best playing experience possible. That means every server needs to fill up in prime time. Screw the traditional view that server mergers mean the game is dying. Every single customer deserves to play on a full server. This game isn't like other MMOs. It's primary focus is on RvR and PQs. Both are way more pleasurable on full servers. The whole game is different on high pop servers.

The big rush is behind us I think. Though I think pop's will still increase noticeably for the coming months, the rate will be too slow to make much of a difference in the coming weeks / months. At low/med pop servers there is lack of the essential bits of WAR; RvR and scenario's aka pvp. I think that since the game is so much dependent on healthy pops that Mythic should forcefully keep server pops healthy.
The game merits that.

When they are able to clone over populated servers, they should also take the next step and merge where it's needed.

The lack of action on some servers is worse press than the community hearing that they are merging servers.

Alternative: remove scenario's influencing zone battles and make them cross server as well. WOW also knew long waiting times before cross realm BG's on imbalanced servers.

It is the way to go.

At the same time they should work hard on making the Order side more attractive because of the appeal of many of the Destro classes is simply so much higher to too many folks.

The pop imbalance is simply the only crucial issue to WAR at this moment, bar none.

Mythic has already said that after the current populations settle down with new people joining and stuff, they're gonna look into server pops and addressing them.  They're waiting til the rush is over pretty much.  Don't worry, they won't pull a blizzard and never merge.

I'm confident in Mythic's ability to run an MMO, but hadn't heard this mentioned. If they address the issue in a manner that deals with underpopulated servers as well as the overpopulated, then I'll be happy. It doesn't matter much personally, since I'm on Skull Throne and Ironfist, but I started on Wasteland and remember how different it was with low pop.
