Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all the classes in a shared starting area have the same quests? I could swear I've done the same ones as both a magus and zealot. If so, this is really a guide to this particular starting zone, since it's about the quests, not about the class itself, other than one paragraph devoted to magus' getting the pink horror pet skill. ~Ripper |

1-5? A guide for 1-5? You're kidding right? Ranks 1-5? |

That's what I was thinking. Leveling from 1-5 is so easy , if you need a guide for it, then computer games might not be the right hobby for you. Just follow the quests and hey presto: You're Rank (!) 5. And how to do that is pretty much explained in the manual and the online help. What would be more interesting are guides on RvR, PvP between ranks 12 and 18, when you are just advancing to the next tier, but don't have a good set of skills, yet. How to approach keep sieges, strategies on leveling overall: scenarios, quests or open RvR, etc. Or what to do solo, when you're logging in during off-peak hours and want to advance your char. Those things are a lot more challenging!

It bears repeating what was previously said about other 1-5 guides here. WAR drew in quite a few players that haven't had previous MMO experience. For someone who hasn't been through the early-level ringer thousands of times like us MMO vets, guides like this really provide some foundation for them to build their experiences in-game on. Without them, its likely that new players would get frustrated and fed up without a little light to guide them. We were all new at some point - and to a lot of us its probably mundane to even see guides like this available. Just remember there are people who try the game and leave it within a few hours because they're lost. Sure, they aren't the power players we all are, but hey, everyone deserves the chance to enjoy a great game. |
