Go Fair Tax, lol. Taxes aren't what is really hurting this country. War is causing everything to go up in this country. We are in the economy crisis we are in because of the Bush Administration.  This is just another Bush Administration folks.

Even Mccain said this about Dick Cheney:

"One of the most capable, experienced, intelligent and steady vice presidents this country has ever had."

John McCain would arguably take this country down the same disastrous road we have been following for the last seven years. Mark my word. You want to continue down this dark hole we are now in? Go with Mccain. If you want change that could better the country then go with Obama - Biden. I was for Mccain at one point but I'm ready for change. I'm sick of the bush Administration and don't want another 8 years of him in office. Americans, are you that dumb? OPEN YOUR EYES. You said that Bush would make a great president and finally you're seeing that you shouldn't have voted for him. But yet, you're doing THE SAME THING AGAIN. VOTING FOR HIM. Vote for something new. I really wish Clinton would have won but since it isn't the case studying Obama, I'll still go with Obama over Mccain anyday. It scares me to think Obama will be in office but I would rather have him in office then another Bush Administration.

Actually that statement might be true regardless of how you view Dick Cheney.  This is when you compare him to other VPs like George Bush, and Al Gore.  Cheney wasn't really a man who was selling the mantra of the president to everyone.  He had his own views and definetly held more clout with the president then any other VP in history.  I think he represented something different, a man with no contention to become president later but a man who is top advisor to the president.  As you can see from him not running on the ticket this year.  He also made the VP picks important from him bringing more power to the Vice Presidency.  He just isn't a politician.

I don't think the war is the problem.  Out of the figures they use to determine the cost of the war, they include the military budget.  Lower this budget and you cut back on the biggest institution in the United States, effectively firing soldiers.  The problem you felt due to the Bush Economics isn't the decrease in taxes, its the increase in government spending.  When you decrease you have to decrease in other areas as well.

Taxes do hurt the economy, they make people not want to spend here.  When you talk about taxing 50% people who make an income over $250k, thats alot.  I don't think anyone in the country would stand to pay these european tax rates.  They would hurt our economy just as much as it hurt our economy in the 1930's, and France's today.  I think its better to decrease the size of government, cut out nearly everything including Social Security, and pass the socialist programs to the state.  The state and local governments can spend the money better.
