Firesky (formerly Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment) has announced that the closed beta for their upcoming MMORPG Stargate Worlds will begin in mid-october. To celebrate the news, the team has sent along these new and exclusive screenshots.

MESA, Ariz. – Oct. 2, 2008 – The wait is almost over for the legions of Stargate and MMO fans waiting to experience the Stargate Worlds Closed Beta test. The gate opens Oct. 15 for the first group of testers.

Stargate fans can pick up their assault rifles and join Op-CORE as they take their first steps in Stargate Worlds. Beta sign ups are live at register.stargateworlds.com/Registration/. More testers will be invited to sign up over time, so it’s not too late to put your name in the selection pool.

“From now until launch, everything we do is about polish and fun,” said Stargate Worlds Studio Head Dan Elggren. “We’ve laid a great foundation for the beta testers and their feedback is a vital part of the game development process.”

I've been looking forward to this game since I learned about it. Now all thats left is to cross my fingers and hope I'm selected to test. It's always nice to have the oppertunity to test games you have an interest in, but then again who knows. I've tested my fair share of the games currently on the market and I've played nearly 80% of them for more than 6 months.

Is more excited to play a game after beta, because you know all about it  Each game i play in beta test, i have buy after, including the new one "Age of Conan" were i get the cape gift  I hope i will play SG Worlds in beta, i like it, is look nice and ill be happy if i discover some bugs  before official release. I also watch at all SG TV serials  including Atlantis (very nice one).

Hmm these guys got there accounts botched up worse than SOE does there accounts.

Geesh i think it was 6 months ago i asked for a reset on password and no matter what i try to do it says still pending...after 6 months still pending? lol.

Try logging in ,it works on one area[accounts],but not on main page ..again lol.

I try a new sign up...says email will be sent for activation...guess what ..nothing,why am i not surprised.Stuff like this is a total turn off,i never even bothered to go after SOE to get my account fixed,i just quit the game,and i will not bother to go after these guys either.

Games are just to pass time and have some fun,no one should have to bend over for any of these developers ,i have actually tried several times to get the account to work,so it has nothing to do with being lazy.Actually the laziness is who ever is in charge of accounts handling code because the first botch ups i had were 6 months,so nothing has been fixed.
