I am going to try and hold back from ranting here and be constructive. However I think a lot of gamers who jumped into WAR feel the same way. Like most people in the game I play scenarios a lot because PvE is dull and RvR is empty. Now I love the idea of jumping into a scenario any where in the world and playing out a PvP game. What annoys the hell out of me is that scenarios dont affect anything except XP so they are just one big grind. Imagine if the winning side of a scenario affected RvR? Maybe more NPCs appear to guard your control point. Maybe the siege weapons increase in range, maybe all the players in RvR get a defense or attack bonus. Anything!!! Even have it so that if you win 2,3,4 or more times in a row the reward becomes much greater or spawns a very bad arse hero to go stomping into the enemy. Without reason scenarios are just a gimmick that holds your interest for 1 week or so. Hardly worth the development hours poured into it. |

You don''t stop playing cos you get old; you get old cos you stop playing. |
Good point, well made. I have to agree. I was expecting some sort of chart or table detailing your wins and losses. That would certainly make scenarios meaningful. It's nice to win 5 in a row, and it's not nice losing 5 in a row. But there's nothing really visible, on the screen, to give that fact any ooomph. |

sorry m8, but i have to dissagree with you. You say: RVR is empty so you go to SC. Thats what major part of players do now. I think If scenario would be taken out all together, or putted from some location ( like wow warmasters), there would be alot of moire players coming to RVR. Now thx god on mine server RVR is really really live at T2, i played a few hours, and keep changed owner a good few times, and we really did had huge batttles. at one moment there were 3 full warbands on order side, and about 2 on destro. then destro brought lvl 22-30 people and wiped us :D thought it was fun anyway. So in my opinion scenarios should be removed or putted to warmasters, becouse of them, we losse a good part of players who can come to RVR. And warhammer is about RVR, not about scenarios. |

It DOES affect RvR. Scenario wins and losses help contribute towards zone control, which contributes towards the amount of renown you earn. Just yesterday I did the Highpass Cemetary scenario. Destruction controls the zone (Highpass). We won 500 to 48. The LOWEST Destruction renown earner had more points than the highest Order player. |

Something like that was said when Hitler was born... What does this have to do with the topic? Dunno. Anyway, scenarios aren't pointless. They are quick fixes for the pvp junkie. Oh and they also work well in killing real rvr. You know where there are keeps and control points are located. What do you mean you never heard of those?! Hey, know what else just about everyone knows nothing about? Lairs! WTF is that!? |

Its a good point beyond that fact that scenario grinding is where most people are at compared to "open rvr". It does mean something.. its less boring than doing the same grind in pve atm. Open rvr ya its fun but its very limited to actually find it on any server I've tried regardless of population.. but there is at least one popular scenario per tier.. If anything.. make open rvr mean something so more people go out there. |

Yes, I have to agree with you here. I think scenarios is a good thing ALTHOUGH to me it should be more of a practice area than exp'ing area. It should be a place where you can learn new stuff and play as a team. Then you go into the RvR area and show em what you got. If they remove scenarios there would be tons more action in the RvR areas (at least for my server) Tier 1 i was able to take all 4 destro owned areas with just a healer. Thats about 10 minutes per area, and no enemies even showed up to defend. Now Tier 1 when you do scenarios the average amount of RP you get is what 300? Somewhere along that area. But when you take over enemy owned area you get 200 RP and another 200 RP for defending. Its totally worth the effort and takes much less time than scenarios. Anyway...when you say they brought in 22-30 to wipe you guys in a Tier 2 area, its impossible. They are Tier 3 and cant enter Tier2 RvR areas, otherwise they'll be turned into a chicken. I was level 12 and tried going into Tier1 RvR areas a few times and got turned into a chicken. So it would be the same for other tiers as well. |
