It's fair to say I love war, and i think it's the bee's knees, and while the servers certainly aren't empty.  Theres simply not enough players.  The entire game assumes it's going to have a larger playerbase then it actually has.  And it really is a HUGE fault of how they beta tested.  I was in closed beta, and everything was run to death.  And everything was done.  Because of how quickly they moved focus'

Now that it's release with multiple servers, with no focus', the people have spread out enough to create empty worlds.

They need to merge into about 30% of the total servers, and use the extra hardware to power different "clusters" of the world in each server.

Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started.

If they nerf the rewards for scenerios, the world will feel much fuller.  The problem isn't as much about server populations as much as it is about Order not doing RvR, but only doing scenerios and pve.

There was at thread about the same thing just a few days ago...

But yes, Mythic might be better off if they had fewer servers first and open a few more when they got quite full instead of the classic way to have many at release. A PvP based game like WAR is funnier when the populaion of the server is bigger, well any game is but PvP based ones are more dependant than PvE games.

There seems to be only a couple of Low pop servers during prime time, at least on EU. I advise either rolling on a higher pop server or just wait for more players to join the game. I don't think server merges would be a good thing. You need a few low pop servers to handle the influx of new players so that the high pop servers don't get overwhelmed. But for now the obvious answer is to not roll on one of the 3-4 low pop servers and go on one of the medium, high or full pop servers. There's people running around everywhere there (well maybe not in tier 4 yet, as people are still leveling).

Well, that depends on what Mythic is considering a low pop server.

Well I play on a medium server and there's people everywhere (except in world RvR as they're hiding in instances, but that's a question of scenario vs world RvR reward balance which needs to be addressed - though at least it means scenario queues are only 2-3 minutes in-between). I'm assuming "low" means that there aren't people everywhere :)

Can you blame order for not doing open RvR when you typically has to face 3 to 1 odds?

I did a travel trip through T1 to T3 of the dark elf and high elf zones on my home server Karad Orrud and there were more than 5 times as many dest players out in those zones than you saw in the order side.

Dest have every single keep in all tiers and every time some orders move out to try and take one they get attacked by a defending force 3 to 5 times their numbers.

So dont blame orders for keeping to scenarios which is the only place to have a fair fight.

I know what you are talking about. I'm on Skull Throne and there are a lot of people there, the highest pop in fact, but it just doesn't ever seem to be enough even at high/high with a queue to get in. I suspect that the servers can't accomodate any more players than they do, there might be a relatively low population cap on the servers. I read 3k somewhere?

I'd like to see the scenarios vanish for a week just to see what happens.

yep, good plan. two weeks after release we can be sure that the game has peaked. i mean WoW had 11 million subscribers after two weeks, and EvE set a concurrent user record in a fortnight that has never been beaten.

nice to see the doomsayers are out in force... again.
