WAR (Warhammer Online)

I am really new to MMORPG's i even just made this account. I have played a month of wow at a friends house. I would have played more but I dont own a decent enough computer to play so I had to play at his house. I will be getting a new computer in 3 weeks. I have been following this game for about a year and thought it looked amazing. I been reading threads on these forums and all i read are complaints. I also look on ebay and craigslist and alot of people are trying to sell there copies of the game because they say its not the game for them. So was this game a let down? Should I just play wow again when i get my new computer or should I buy this game as I was planning to. Just looking to see what you guys think.

One thing you need to know if you are new to MMORPGs.

Never listen to anyone on the forums, try things for yourself.

Because of this, i'm not going to preach to you why I think this game is so amazing and fun. Atleast not in the way that i'm sure the incoming haters will let you know why they dislike it and why you should too.

I will however let you know if you can run it. You just have to let us know a few things.

How much Memory does your computer have?

What kind of processor do you have, and how fast is it (Ghz)?

What kind of video card do you have?

my computer now can freezes once an hr and can barely play shockwave games but when I get my new computer I know i will be able to play. Thanks for the advice though Ill just have to try it i guess. But where are all the people saying this game is awesome its so fun get it. It seems like everyone hates it or says its fun but im not going to play anymore.

I think it is an amazingly fun game, and I am going to play it until Warhammer 40k Online comes out.

At that time I will play both of them.

 WoW is a lot more polished than WAR but both are fun to play in their own ways.  Try em both if you can and then cancel the one you dont like as much :D

When this game gets off the ground it ROCKS.

However at the moment there are a few flaws preventing it from getting off that tarmac regularly... namely sub-standard chat UI and instanced scenarios drawing a seizable chunk of players from the real game.

Otherwise I find it a dream. PQs are revolutionizing the whole concept of social play in MMOs - playing with total strangers for a common purpose has never been so easy and natural. Up until now you had to find a group (time lost, frustration) before you could attempt group content. PQs combined with open groups system turn this on its head. You begin with doing solo portion of group content and people start joining you... until you have a fully formed raid and can start doing epic things. Pure genius.

Whatever glitches there still are with this system it works perfectly - people complaining have still not gotten the hang of it. I play on a server that is med population at peak times and I never had a problem with forming a group to finish off a PQ.

This game is great in my opinion. Most people expect everything to be perfect before the game is a month old and just give up. Thats why there games are on ebay and craigslist. a little patience goes a long way.

 This is a terrible game, I quit, I'm waiting on Aion and KOTOR Online at the end of 2010

This is one of those games where you have to play it for some time to really see how good it is.

In the begining its actually a bit boring and uninspired compared to the early lvls of other games but once you begin to get some lvls under your skin and begin to see the strong tactics there is involved in how to be successful the game becomes amazing.

Its the reverse of AoC. In AoC it starts great and then the game gradually become worse as you lvl, in WaR is starts boring and then gradually becomes better and better as you level.

Mythic is the masters of endgames in MMOs so I have great hope. (if they can find a solution of the population imbalance of course)

Best MMO I've played so far. While the launch is much, much better than say World of WarCraft's, it's not as polished as MMOs that have been out for years. With some tweaks and bug-squashing I don't see any reason for a PvP-lover like me to play another MMO for a long time :)
