Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

despite what the haters say this game is coming together.

now is a good time to get in because they are going to be forced to put in more lvl 50 content soon. But if you play as well as see the sunlight of the irl day you should not outpace teh content too bad. If you are the hard core - i never change my underwear - and i have a bucket by the pc type you might have to roll a couple toons.

The grouping dynamic is (imho) exactly like we had in old eq.  You dont just zerg the whole place and the mobs aren't necessairly perfectly linked so if you're puller is doing his job right then you'll get singles. If the puller messes up and a train is incoming then you need your chanter or other lower grade mezzers. 

There is snaring which lets you kite around as well as AOE and the famous bard songs are in there.  SOW is in the game and the Shammys  seem to have the good buffs.  Warriors /pallies and DKs have their "inc keys" all bound up and I have my mez macro all sorted out.

This is one game you need to stop reading about and try out.  Lots of year old information available by the anti-Vanguard community and experiences I simply have not recreated.

Come play and put your lfg tag up because about the only thing i see teh game needing more of is people willing to shake 5 years of bad gaming habits and group up a bit more.

I'll resub the moment a load of endgame content that isn't raid-related hits live.

I had/have a lvl 50 in every class, but couldn't stand the raids.

I actually took advantage of the free vets trial last week and found that performance has dramatically improved. I couldn't face spending an hour to alter the UI to my favour though.

So anyway, I heartily recommend everyone to use their free trial and have a go :)

Wow a lvl 50 in EVERY class?!?  I don't think they will ever have enough content to keep you busy :P

lol. It's true. All hand-made. I have no life. I rarely see the sun, and my waistline could do with being smaller

I only have one 50/50/50 though. I figured that there wasn't any point in having 2 of something, and that diplo grind was painful (though I hear it's been improved).

Diplomacy is very easy now.

3x50? You're missing one ;)

When the new raid dungeon arrives, it has a group dungeon part to it, maybe worth coming back for that.

Could the original UI really be THAT badly designed?

I really liked this game alot. Started WAR and may come back soon. I kind of miss VSoH. It really was a great game. I was in the middle of getting my swamp armor set together.

Oh, I'm not saying that it's badly designed at all.

Just that I, personally, find it bloody dreadful

Well, to be precise, there's no reason why they couldn't spend a day on the UI and make it wonderful. The trouble arises when you use (from within their options) additional toolbars. For some weird reason, instead of having them appear uniformly, they appear half-hidden behind other windows, and all out of alignment.
