When you're installing the game and setting up your PlayOnline Account for the first time, pay special attention to the PlayOnline ID you are assigned. It will be a series of 4 letters and 4 numbers, so somthing like this: ABCD1234 Write that ID and your password down somewhere you won't lose it. Should you ever cancel your account (Content IDs) and then want to re-activate later, all you will need to enter is that code and the password you set when you created the POL account. If you ever need to call SE for assistance, they're going to ask you for that as well. The PlayOnline ID is also presented at the account "Member List" screen when you start up PlayOnline (you might have to "log out" to see it). You'll find the code just above your account name. So if you didn't write it down at account creation, you can still get it from there. I wrote mine on the inside cover of the FFXI manual that came with it. I know some people keep a small notebook of all their various usernames and passwords, etc. On a related note... You do not need to re-enter the registration code that came with the game when reactivating. This has been a point of confusion for some in the past. SE will have all your information already on file, including any registration codes you've entered to activate the game, an expansion, etc. It's all assigned to and accessed via your PlayOnline ID. Another Important tip... If you are playing on a PC, set the options to save your POL ID/Password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you log in. The reason is, there's been a rash of hacked PC accounts in the recent past caused by people either using a program, or accessing a site that had a key logger embedded in it. So when those people logged into FFXI and entered their ID/Password manually, the logger grabbed the info and their accounts were hacked. You can get the account back, by proving to SE that the account is yours. But, it's a hassle and your character's likely to be stripped when you do. So... just play it safe and let the app save the info for you. And, of course, stay away from questionable apps or websites. So.. Hope those help :)
