Patience is a virtue, reason a necessity |
Hello Everyone,
Gestalt recently posted a forum link, within that link was this link http://www.warherald.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=397 I would like to open a discussion about this, and see what people think. I know for a fact if Mythic forces me to PVE grind just so I can play in RVR, then they will loose my sub. I want to play war for RVR and sieging. However I dont feel I should be forced to get a thousand and 1 different armor sets just to be able to pvp. Please post your opinions about this, and try to keep the flaming down. *edit* i forgot to add (other) please post your response if the poll doesnt reflect a plausable answer.

This annoucment was the perverbial straw that broke the camels back for me. I will not ever never ever ever ever grind PvE for armor so I can PvP. Period, end of story. |

If you want to stay competitive, then yes, you do have to grind PVE. |

No you don't, and I think that the OP misread the article in his own link. If you read about the encounters effected by each of the armor sets listed, they are dungeons and PQs, not PvP. |

Really? Because the RR armor that pops up in keeps every now and then can't even hold a candle to the stuff you get from quests and PQs. |

True but the armor from PQ, Dungeons (PvE) are much much better stat wise than PvP/RvR Renoun Gear. So yes if you want to be better than a renoun player, you will do the PQ's and Dungeons until your armor drops. Honestly though why complain about it. It's time vs reward. Putting the time in with a team to get the PQ and Dungeon armor should yield a better reward as Renoun rewards are just for doing things your going to be doing anyway. You don't really have to go out of your way to RvR or Scenario, just hot the queue button or stand outside a keep. PQ's and Dungeons are actually challenging to complete and as such should yield greater reward. If you want Lazy armor you get Renoun. If you want hard earned better stat armor you do PvE. It is a pretty simple method really. |

Do you consider a fortress lord PvP? You need wards to take the fortress lord. If no one shows up its PvE if people show up isn't it PvP? |

Keeps and keep lords by their nature are RvR targets. Not PvE I know they are "NPC's" but they are in a specific area designed in nature to make RvR occur. Anywhere near a keep is considered RvR. It will draw the players to defend it, which it turn will give you the renoun you seek. Even some PQ's are mix pitting both sides NPC's against each other in an effort to spark a fight. It might or might not happen though. However the reward your working for inside a PQ area is PvE gear or INF rewards, which is PvE related. It is pretty simple. If your in a place that requires you to fight the other faction, it's for RvR and Renoun Gear. If your in a place that requires your side only to work as a team to complete an objective for exp or influence. Then your working towards PvE gear. |

There are more RvR armours than just the renown sets; PvP armor drops off opposing players are optimized for PvP and give the best PvP performance, they are just very rare, so you will need to grind PvP to get them |
