Hello,

I am considering playing WoW and was just wondering if there is anypoint  in starting the game at this point?

I mean will there be enough people at starting zones etc.

Any thoughts would be nice.

May contain nuts.

Currently there is a worldwide event going on involving a zombie invasion that is making levelling difficult for the lower levels, not to mention very confusing for new players. I'm not sure how much longer it will be going on for, but you should bear this in mind - especially if rolling a Human - as the starting area is overrun with zombies.

Despite this, there is an expansion pack coming out next month resulting in a surge of new players and older players rolling alts, so there's no better time to join. The game has been adjusted to compliment newer players like yourself to aid levelling in time for Wrath of the Lich King.

WoW has grown exponentially since release and there's a lot to learn and bucketloads of content so you might be a little overwhelmed. Nothing polarises the MMO community quite like WoW, but you should try it yourself and draw your own opinions.

Game hopping since 2003.

Do a lot of research about your server and its players.

My server is infested with immature idiots and has population problems so you wait ages to party with morons :( Apparently this is just a problem with alliance.

Don't be quick to commit to a class, race or server and you'll be fine :) My mistake - picking rogue and hitting 70 ignoring all the signs that my server sucked.

Well, WoW is soloable til up to 70.
Having said that, I know it is nice to find people to do stuff with.

In WoW there is always someone who is re-rolling an alt so chances are you might find some people around.
Just to make sure choose a server which is "Full" you might get the queue to log in but you are always sure there are enough people both at low level and high level.

I've been playing WoW for ever. It's a great game very easy to learn. Only thing I recommend is if your starting brand new, play on one of the new servers they release for WotLK. That way everyone won't be 70 levels higher then you.
