Darkfall

Today at roughly 8:40 am (greek time) there has been a presentation of Darkfall online on the greek channel Antenna.

I saw new material,different from what we have seen in the site.
A video with some characters interacting ,talking and laughing ,as well as some development video of facial characteristics and head gear.

Also tasos was there talking about the game and saying that the current development team is about 30 people 20 of them are greek.

Sry i didnt get any material cause i just caught the presentation at the end.

And as always the reporters didn't have a clue what the game was about but tasos was there to clear things up.

If anyone has footage of this please post a link!

Are they ever going to launch any global marketing? At the rate this is going, I wouldn't be suprised that you have to live in Greece to play it.

I don't think we will ever see any global marketing for this game, just Europe by the looks of things.

But it will have a server in US.  They have already signed up with a provider.

Someone should have taped it but it seems nobody have im affraid:(

150k registered with about 110k in last few months.

If darkfall delivers it will grow faster then anybody even think it would be posible hehe.

My gues is and thats a little from fan point of view, 100k when launch when the game is stable with no lag, its bugfree or at least almost bug free and enough content, combat workds good.

I say fast to at least 250k+

But thats my prediction maybe its totally bullshit:P

It wil cater towards hardcore so it will always be a nich market but becouse in last 4 years market of mmo's have growing so large mainly becouse of wow, i think there is a nice portion avaible for a fresh new mmorpg called darkfall that is 100% different from what wow is.

It is.  100% bullshit.

Let me give you an example.  Star Wars Galaxies which was built on one of the biggest and most widely known IP's in the entire world only had about 300,000 sunscribers.

And you think Darkfall -- an obscure, generic fantasy MMOG that is not even marketed is going to have more or close to that?

No way in hell. If it does ever launch here it would be lucky to have and hold 20-30k subscribers for a year. After that... unless they do great updates it would probably start to fall.

This is not the MMORPG market of 1999.

It's VERY easy to get people registered on a board system with the promise of a free Beta to play. To get people to take out their credit card and give you money to play is a totally different story.

This products production values are just terrible. No marketing at all 2 months before a supposed commercial launch. No date for a Beta to begin. No date for an actual launch.

Total nonsense. Let them launch the game in Greece and keep it there because that's the only place it will have any kind of success.

It will totally bomb in the USA. Maybe they're not as dumb as I think they are and even understand that themselves...which is why they're not bothering with any market push here.

Darkfall's lack of marketing has stopped many guilds from following it very actively, this is true.  But trust me that it is still on the radar of every serious pvp guild.  It just offers too much on paper.  Whether they deliver or not is anyones guess...but if they do.....250K+ is definitely achievable.

Just ask around if you play WAR or any pvp game...a lot of guilds will say somethin to the extent of "if it releases well and the reviews are good we will check it out, but not until then".

So if it releases well....you better believe it.

Not sure what you're talking about. I never report people.. and I don't consider stating a common sense opinion backed p by some factual data to be "flaming baiting"....

But you soldier on... I am sure Darkfall will deliver everything it's promised to you and everyone over the last 7 years.....  in Greece.   lol
