WAR (Warhammer Online)

For all its flaws and issues one month out of the box, the fact of the matter is that WAR is still a better PvP / RvR game than WoW is or ever will be. Those who like PvP will gravitate to WAR (or perhaps EvE for the sandbox fans) and those who like their PvE will either go back to McWarcraft or discover something more mature like LotRO.

The WAR community needs to start making active comaprisons to DAoC.

WAR is easier to compare to DAoC as next generation.

WoW is king of the hill and probably always will be as far as subscriptions goes. Opinions are too debatable. To say WAR is "better" is subject to reprisal by the majority of that community that actively plays and enjoys the game.

I prefer WAR over WoW. But I'm not going to argue with several million people on who's opinion hold more weight.

By writing this you are gonna do nothing but promote trolling. By stating that War has better PVP than WOW will ever have just causes problems.

Yeah, I don't understand why someone would start a thread like this.   Especially on the day when Warhammer devs announce they are closing down 40% of their servers because of low populations.

Seems like someone is throwing a softball to the trolls.

I love it when the sad WOW haters crawl out of the wood work 9 times out of 10 there the one's that played wow the longest and just try to jump on the cool wagon by slaging it off.

 Hey OP, what about us who don't compartmentalise well in such small boxes as PVP-only or PVE-only? Can we play MMORPGs too? Please, please, can we please???  

I find it funny that McWarcraft fans continually conflate popularity and quality.

We all understand that popularity /= quality from various other parts of life - movies, books, food.

WoW having millions of subscribers doesn't make it a better game. Just like McDonalds having better sales than the mom and pop restaurant around the corner make it better food.

I will gravitate around CoD 4, better PvP, more fun, and for free.

WAR might have better PvP than WoW, but fails at being an entertaing MMORPG.
Also for PvP fanatics there are better multiplayer games out there, and they are free.

The only way WAR can be a kick ass game is if Mythic can integrate its good PvP, with a good RPG element and decent PvE too.
At the moment the last 2 elements are kind poor, therefore PvP players will leave this game and gravitate towards multiplayer games.

I'm not hating anything, I'm just stating the truth, which is it's always going to be inferior to Warhammer in terms of PvP/RvR.
