To all of you that think your parents are boring...They got boring to raise you !! |
I have played EVE off and on since it had less than 10000 players online on a Sunday. (2004 I guess) I really like the the game but I always get sick of it so I quit for a while and come back and get sick of it and come back etc. I get into a corp that seems great and then the drama starts and it goes away or the corp expects me to be online almost 23/7 then kicks me when I dont, or they want me to sit at a gatecamp for hours on end. I have tried soloing, mission running, mining and after a while that gets very old. Anyway the point of this post is what am I missing or maybe I should just give up on EVE. However I am getting the urge to resub again. :(

That's a familiar story, not only to myself but I'm sure many others as well. After a year solo / small group roaming pvp and pirating I joined up with a 0.0 corporation several months ago and haven't looked back. Its a entirely new game, from combat and industrialization to the high risk vs. reward. Things really do matter out there, a wrong move in a hostile region can be very costly to you and possibly the corporation and alliance. Null security is the finest “white knuckle fun” I've had in any online game, or almost any game and I've been gaming since the first Atari 2600 unit shipped from Sunnyvale California. It may take a few or more 0.0 corporations before you find the right one, but when you do its well worth the time and effort. Remember, your hard earned ISK and the efforts of players since the inception of EVE are dependant on every move the pilots make out there, be it combat, industrial, leadership, science, or diplomacy. Its truly a team struggle; team effort, team win, and team loss. If that little EVE bug is itching you again I suggest beginning the search for a 0.0 corporation that suits your goals, and respects you not only as a gamer and pilot, but as a person behind a keyboard and monitor as well. |

What he said..I've been playing since about that time too. Since then CCP has created a whole new game in 0.0, and they continue to refine it. If you what to really enjoy the game, play the game CCP is developing today not the one they put out in 2004. |

You don't enjoy the game so give it up. The PVP is boring too because all you do is look at a clunky interface :\ I want to see wtf is going on with the nice graphics but instead the screen is cluttered with all this shit and then more flashing shit. Even then it's just orbiting round a target and watching your ship auto fire it's sooo boring. Joined a corp but you have to wait for peak play times before you can do anything and most of the nights it's boring stuff. People say it's about the 0.0 PVP but it takes tooooo long to get into group PVP. I just want to jump into aload of PVP and have fun but you lose your ship and you have to spend even more time getting the money back for a new ship.

Wow. Sounds like EvE was a massive disappointment to you. Shame. I'm sure you'll have tons of fun playing whatever mindless, linear, no-thought, whack-a-mole MMO you prefer. |
