"I find your lack of faith disturbing."

Here we go, the moment you've all been waiting for (yeah, right). Who will I actually endorse?

Okay, let's start with Obama. No way. No F'in way. Most socialistic guy to ever get near the white house? No way, no how.

The man who thinks we are at war with al qaeda and not with something bigger? The man who thinks the war is in Afghanistan and not in Iraq, not in the Philippines, not in Africa, not in Europe, not in Kazakhstan, Not in the rest of the world? Obama is a non starter.

The man who will let the democratic congress give us the fairness doctrine? No way.

The man who would certainly appoint legislators from the bench supreme court justices? No way.

Now, McCain. Better than Obama at all levels, but still a big government republican, still a man who will destroy the economy for some bad environmental science.

He is marginally better than Obama on the economy, but only marginally. he, like Obama, are good on immigration. They want more legal immigration, and we need that.

On the war, McCain is right on, and if that were the only issue, I'd vote for him. But there's more, much more.

He's still no better than Obama on civil liberties, although he would probably veto a fairness doctrine. He certainly won't repeal the Patriot Act, which has been a nightmare.

Nader? Nope. See Obama. Although better on civil liberties, a nightmare on economics.

McKinney. See Nader and Obama.

Ron Paul. Right on everything but the war and immigration. My second choice.

Bob Barr: a clear winner. I don't agree with him on the war, but he seems more reasonable than Ron Paul. same thing with immigration. Like Ron, 100% on the economy and civil liberties. I've been voting Libertarian most of my life, because I agree with them on the basic issues.

This year, my hawkish disposition isn't gonna change me. If I lived in a battleground state, I'd probably be voting for Mccain, and if YOU do, I hope you vote for McCain, because I'd rather have him in the White House than Obama. But if you live in Obamaland like me, time to send a message again that you really want CHANGE, and not more of the same. I want FREEDOM.

Bob Barr for President 2008.

And now let me close with the best campaign video I have ever seen:

I am taking off (probably) class tomorrow.  So, I have like all this energy knowing I do not have to wake up in the morning, so I am glad you ask. LOL.  But do not expect a detailed post, as I am exhausted.

Election Day Should be a National Holiday:  It is Once Every Four Years

ME:  (brief) I am a former Republican.  I was a somewhat active Republican.  I still belong to clubs and organizations that are most republican and Republican.

Why did I change?

  1. War mongering
  2. War profiteering
  3. Attempts to "amend" the constitution
  4. Tax policies
  5. Economic policies
  6. Foreign policies
  7. Mismanagement
  8. Deficit-spending
  9. Growth of government (every level)
  10. Immigration policies
  11. Domestic policies
  12. No infrastructure programs
  13. Civil rights, liberties, privacy

I enthusiastically support Obama for President of the United States of America.

Economy

Pro small business.  Small businesses, close corporations are the backbone of this economy.  Most people reading this probably work for a small business (or their parents do).  If they do not work for a small business, odds are they will either form one or work in one.

Closely held corporations is where a lot of wealth is "built" - not to be confused where wealth is "hidden."

In most close corporations, a few people wear hats as officer, director, and owner.
They know how to budget.  They create jobs.  They innovate.

Their hardwork is what makes our economy so efficient.

I support our entrepreneurs, the true economic leaders.

Aside:  the founding fathers were all small business owners, by and large.  A Jeffersonian democracy is one in which we all own property and are all productive.

War

It is apparent we were mislead into war.

It is apparent it was not "misinformation."

It is apparent it was not "incompetence."

It is apparent there was an agenda to go into Iraq.

It is obvious there never was WMDs.

It is sad.

Taxes

Redistribution of income up using the Internal Revenue Code is not working.

Working-class people are the engine of the economy; their spending habits (consumer spending) will determine if our economy goes up or down.  If it grows or not.

We have a tax code that punishes work.

It rewards wealth.

Let's reward work.

Constitution

Obama is a former law professor of Constitutional law.

If you study Con Law, it is basically case after case after case of judges trying to justify their overturning of precedence.

I am hopeful, audaciously hopeful, we will have a pro-Constitution president.

Without the Constitution, we lose all of our rights:  rich, poor, liberal, democratic, or conservative.

Infrastructure

Gosh, people, bridges are, literally, falling.

Our country is in decay.

We need modern bridges, airports, ports, highways, and rail.

This will improve, short-term and long-term, our economy.

Health Care

One word:  D I S A S T E R.

The United States is being RIPPED OFF by wealth doctors and pharmaceutical companies (disclosure: I am a shareholder of a pharmaceutical company).

We need universal coverage.  We need it now.  Health care will consume most of our economy in 2020.

Health care, the for-profit model, does not work.

USA is ranked like below Cuba and other countries in health care.

I have experienced health care, and dental care, in Europe (UK) when I lived there.

It is excellent.

Do not trust the rumors.

"If you warn me about global warming once more, you''ll get a swift carbon footprint in the ass!"

I'm not going to go through the entire list of candidates because let's face it, there's only two who have a chance of being President.

Barack Obama, too liberal and too inexperienced to be President.

John McCain, I was remarkably unenthusiastic about McCain for President and you are most likely correct about him being a big government Republican.  My dad believes that taxes are going to go up under either Obama or McCain, but less under McCain.

What threw me solidly into the McCain camp was his pick of Sarah Palin for Vice-President.  I know she would have very limited influence as VP, but I'm thinking more of the future.  She would become the front runner for President in either 2012 if McCain decides not to run for a second term (or if he unfortunately did not survive his first term) or in 2016 regardless of whether McCain was defeated in 2012 or served two terms.

i live in a Supposed McCain state , yet i agree with the OP , I'm going with Barr.

Starters i have always been an indenpendant with Republican leanings ( as if you guys couldnt tell)

Barr was the ONLY candidate to actually care about my vote by legally registering to be on the ballot, not one of the others even tried. texas had to break its own election laws to get Obama , MCCain , and the rest on the ballot.

I dont agree with Obama , he doesnt have a single new economy policy that hasnt already been tried and failed. I dont like his healthcare because i lived under VA healthcare for a long time recovering from injuries and will for the rest of my life. Thats govt run industry,  the DMV and the VA, neither impresses me.he also did something i never thought would ever happen in my country , he convinced and entire people that without his handouts they have no hope of ever being successful. He created a generation of slaves without firing one shot , without using one legal system available to "change" things when he had the chance as a Senator.

Obama  will pursue another war without fixing the mess we created in Iraq , he plans to abandon an entire culture we promised we would make it better , or die trying. We own them that after the hurt we caused. No matter if going there was right or wrong , we owe it to the Iraqi people, and the world to atone for our mistake by trying to try to set things right as best we can. McCain wants to do that , just like he did for Vietnam.

But since Mccain will mosat likely carry Texas , i can not in good conscious as an American vote for him. I have to abandon the Rebublican party as they have lost touch with us , the people. They are no longer worthy to represent ANY people living in the , they have much to atone for , mostly for becomeing a 1970 democrat's wet dream party.

Now , out of my respect for my fellow man i can not vote for Obama. Unlike alot of people who like Obama i refuse to accept that the avg american can not survive without a handout. I still beleive deep down we are the greatest place in the world with the best chance of anyone at all becoming better than they hoped.I refuse to support a man who single handedly convinced an entire nation they are not able to do anything without the help of the govt.

The rest of the candidates .. well i cant name them so thats about how much of an impression they made on me.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
