Like the title says, I reinstalled wow, out of boredom really.

I wanted to see if either the mmorpg genre in general was no longer enticing to me or if I was just having a bad experience with war.

It turns out, it was war. Lack of polish, lack of meaningful things to do (which I admit, WoW doesn't have much of either), and lack of fun were the main reasons why I canceled my subscription.

I STILL think war has the potential to be a great game, I just wish that mythic had spent more time polishing and testing the game.

I will probably come back in 3-4 months, when the new classes are released and people are getting a pretty good understanding of what works and what doesn't in war.

Till then its going to be Wotlk.

The new classes are being released for headstart this 17th and WAR is definitely more polished then any of the recent releases. Ofcourse it suffers from some imbalance problems but comparing it to WOW. Well except for orcs and dwarfs they got nothing in common.

One thing that really bothers me, and it's such a small thing in general but really stuck out to me, is the movement of the mounts.

They look so stiff, like a complete after thought.  Their movements are not realistic at all, and when you jump on something you'll notice that they aren't even touching it.

Another thing is the enviroments.  They look pretty good and distinct...but are filled with loopholes and bugs.

I've gotten stuck on so many things its ridiculous.  I ride through praag and see two pillars with a wide enough center that makes me think I can jump through, only too be stopped by some invisible force when I try.

Its like they just put everything down and forgot to sculp and mold it.

To be honest this was my main complaint during closed beta.  It was severly lacking polish.  They put so much time and effort into PvP the rest of the game was almost slapped together.  It lacks that touch you get when something was created lovingly.  If I didn't know any better it was as if the game was built by people who love PvP but simply loath PvE.

Don't want a WOW clone because if I want to play WOW then I'll go to who does it best.... WOW.

WAR is not  WoW clone it focuses on a totally different aspect to WoW

WAR = PVP

WoW =PVE

They both have the others feature but are lacking in that general Area.

I am taking an extnded break from WAR myself not because i dislike the game i actually have fun playing it, but i ask myself why is it that i log into it everyday? And i cant figure out why i do, I'm all keen to get on when friends are on but when there not i'm just like Meh couldn't be bothered.

I think this game has plenty of potential but is lacking something at the Moment.

WAR = PVP

WoW =PVE

They both have the others feature but are lacking in that general Area.

I am taking an extnded break from WAR myself not because i dislike the game i actually have fun playing it, but i ask myself why is it that i log into it everyday? And i cant figure out why i do, I'm all keen to get on when friends are on but when there not i'm just like Meh couldn't be bothered.

Honestly though, War isn't this amazing pvp game.  In fact, the use of tanks in pvp and keeps is all it has above wow. 

The keep system is great.  Its fun and rewarding and the shining light to war.  Yet when wow was released, and before the battlegrounds were implemented, the huge outdoor pvp battles were just as epic.  You would camp the opposing factions' outpost.

As of right now, I would say Wow's pvp as a whole (arena, bgs, class balance-well sort of lolz, twitch base gameplay) is superior to war.

In wow, I could take on two guys at once and win if I played my best game and they didn't.

In war, a person can just spam their same move on me and ill be dead no matter how well I do things. Frustrating.

Gotcha... I know you play AoC. Admit it you dump WAR for AoC. Just like me. Actually after the Consequence system AoC=PvP.

The only way I'd ever play WoW again is if they copied everything from WAR, so it would basically have to be WAR on WoW's engine. Then "WAR" would run smooth, and I won't keep getting stuck on walls. oO

WAR has got a lot going for it, but those things are shit on by scenarios.

I've been around the genre for a long time and played many MMORPGs at launch. To be honest, I don't get this "lack of polish" complaint. This is one of the most polished, bug free launches I've ever seen.
