Congratulations to America for electing its first black President. Although I disagree with this Presidents politics and ideas about government, I still feel like this is a great time for us to show that we are getting over our disgraceful past of racism. I hope this is a sign of what's to come. Even though Prop 8 passed in California and will put the first discriminatory amendment into a state Constitution, I feel like this presidential election is a sign that the old ideas of fear of different people and the human reflex to segregate is being overcome by the logic and higher reasoning our brains are also capapble of. It will take some more time, but I think we're getting there. I still look forward to the day when everyone of all races and creeds and religions and all consensual adults are seen as equal and free to be who we are without division and bitterness.
YAY, USA!!! Now, let's get to work keeping this fella in check so he doesn't mess up American ideals. We've started getting rid of the religious fanatics and their overtaking the Republican party, so let's get to work on our next hurdle of fanatical liberalism and big government. |

No kidding, I am glad we finally got out of the normal formula for presidents, and even gladder we didn't reject the first even half black man to try. I just freaking wish it could have been someone else. We're in for some rough times, I hope he is up to the task. |

Ok I am all for change but lets please remember that he is not all black and was raised by a white woman. I am glad that America is willing to elect a person of any color and someone who wants change but also come on he is still a man in politics, how much change can happen? |

The Republican's need to look at this as a HUGE wake up call. People (meaning real conservatives, not the neo-con big government Jesus freaks) are fed up with that party. How else could someone like Barak Obama win the White House for pete's sake?!?!?!? And there were increases in Congress too! BIG BIG BIG wake up call. |

Love is where you give, |
Nope, because Obama never would have won if he was wearing baggy pants that showed his underwear and since thats all those poor inner city people can afford apparently they need the leg up to avoid unwarranted bias. |
