I have been around playing MMORPGs for about a good 2 years now. I have not played as many of these games as many of you, but I have been around to a certain degree. The game I play right now is AoC. The game before was WoW. I think both games have their strenghts and weaknesses. If we wanted to go into all of them, that would make this a very long post, so I rather focus on the one thing I thoroughly enjoy about AoC. AoC is a tricot free zone. It is such a relief to not have elfbois running around in pantyhose with sword in hand. Elfmen with glowing eyes and bulge on their tricot seriously snap me out of my game immersion. It just looks so funny. I have a ton of FPS friends and other friends that love gaming, just not MMORPGs, and they do so agree. This look silly, so I kind of start to suspect this whole elfboi fetish thing to really be a MMORPG thing. Hence my question, and this goes to all MMORPGers that are in love with a elfman, what is it with these longeared men in pantyhose that you like? I can't for the life of me understand it. Please open up you elfboi hart and tell us what do you really like about the elf race?

elfgurls > elfbois.
anything more than that seems like it would be wasted on this thread. |

Come on MMORPGers. You have to be able to do better than this. What is it that you love about elfmen? |

Wait till you see the Vulcans in Star Trek Online! Elfs are ok I guess, they just come across as very feminine to me, bright colours are a no no. |

Exactly, they come across as very feminine to most people. But why is there such a high abundance of gamers loving these femine men among MMORPGers? Is it a fashison thing, that people love that tricot or is it something else? There is fare too little response on this thread. Could somebody that play an elfboi speak out here? |

They're pretty. That's why. It's that simple.
I wish they would make some badass elves though. |

Atleast WoW tried to break that "frail looking woman boy" with they're Arnold copy. But i agree most Elf men look like females with no breast. |

"Easy" only equals "better" for crack addicts and MMORPG developers. |
Now who is to blame for the 'feminine elfboys'? Normally I play an elf...why? Not because of the fem looks...normally game devs give elves the higher dex roll. Higher dex is what rangers usually need. So I play the elf to be a ranger. But I don't create the games. It is not me who decided the elf needs to be runnin around in tights. The OPs question shouldn't be directed at the players...but the devs for having the fetish of making the male elf look as it does. The players don't make the game...just play it...the devs make the look of the game. And I have yet to see a thread by the players in any game demanding that the elf be made 'more feminine'. |
