Help someone who can not return the favor.

I suggest having post ratings in order to help control the negative/useless posts on the forums. For example lets say after getting 10 or 20 negative user ratings a post could either be deleted or just minimized. On top of that I suggest to allow only one or two accounts per ip address. This would prevent ratings in general from being massivly bumped in a positive or negative direction.

Anyone who wants to go into outer space is not playing with a full deck! (Example: Richard Garriot)

There is already a rule aginst multi-accounts. Plus anyone who would register extra accounts would probably use proxy IP addresses to get around such a limitation.

Other than that though, I agree. Ability to rate posts would probably help a lot on this forum. I see a lot of trolls who get away with their trolling for a long time because as long as they are "nice" they aren't breaking the rules, but they can get away with spreading total nonsense rumors, spamming the same pointless arguements over and over and be general pains in the butt without ever getting warned or getting their posts deleted. But god forbid you tell these guys to go away, thats "harassment" and is aginst the rules.

Having post ratings would probably make poeople who make "nice" posts that don't break the rules but are still trolling a lot easier to deal with than they are right now.

You cant do a post rating. For example if I go to a Darkfall board and post any major concern I have. I would get -1000 rating in 2 min. It just wont work theres to many "fanboys" out there that will - rate you just for not agreeing with them.

Digg.com and Redit.com are good examples of what I was suggesting. Sure there are people who bump their posts with multiple accounts, but does it really happen that often to make a noticeable difference? Personally I don't think it does because there's so many other people who surf the website as well and will rate appropriately which would then knock it back down, but I could be wrong.

All I know is this site needs something bad to control the trolls. The moderators do a good job of getting the people who are blatantly violating a rule, but like you said there's always some who slip through the cracks.
