Today, we figured out how contribution in keep raids work. Took about 25 keeps today.

Basically, when you zone or relog, you are 'seeded' (given) a contribution value. How do we know this? We were slutting keeps in Praag and TM (meaning that destro and ourselves were simply swapping keeps without zoning out, basically being RvR pussies)... and the same people received the same contribution each time - regardless of whether or not they actually did anything. For a few of the raids, our top "contributor" did not do anything just to test.... LITERALLY NOTHING! He was still top contributor. We zoned, and repeated, and he was no longer top contributor.

If this isn't proof of how the contribution system is, then please enlighten me. We're on EU btw.

Oh yeah, before i forget - mythic... epic fail you tards!

Their contribution system for the PQs is something similar.  You don't have to really do anything to consistently WIN a PQ.  The random rolls are anything but random.  It's more of a way to balance out the loot which is stupid.

That sounds a little bizarre so can I just make sure I understand you correctly?

When you say that you were 'swapping keeps without zoning out' does that also mean that you weren't really fighting each other that much.

If there wasn't that much fighting going on then the seeding system you discovered might just be the baseline position that would be overridden RvR activity.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying, but unless it is a representative test of what usually occurs in a keep battle, it doesn't necessarily prove anything.

Just my opinion though.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

Sounds like a bug to me.

I don't think it's 'seeding'. How would the game determine a contribution when you enter a zone? It just seems to not reset your contribution after a keep-take unless you zone.

\WAR has a lot of issues with persistence of variables... Usually the other way around, though.

"Now I see the cloak heraldry..." Zzzzzone! " Now I don't"

Firebrawn i tested the same thing in PQS lower level though for quick turnaround during the early stages of beta.. The contribution system for keeps is identical to the one for PQS and it holds true that if after the first time a PQ is completed u just afk camp you will be in the same position in the charts yu were before... If u just want to verify that test it to a low level pq...

I have no idea if it's the same with PQs.

But i am 99% sure this is the system they're currently using for keep raids... simply because they haven't developed a proper contribution system yet.

To the other guy with the question - no, we were not fighting destro at all. Just keep swapping.

Hmm this sounds very plausible and is consistent with my experiences... It seems that PQ or keep siege's influence doesn't reset upon completion but stays fixed at the first value..

Firebrawn I'd suggest reporting this as a bug or as feedback... If the contribution system is bugged then it is quite serious. I wouldn't say it is intentional by Mythic - give em some credit... and besides they've been tweaking scenario contribution systems a lot - I suppose the same is in place for PQs and keep sieges.

Last time I participated on a PQ, it was already on Stage III. I didnt expect to be in first position considering I barely played it. And sometimes I notice I play the whole stages and don't get any loot. But as some have stated over here, you can do the most DPS and that doesnt mean you will be in first position. It's random. Wait for stage III, hit the hero once and wait for results, you may be surprised.

That isn't always true though, I can remember accidentally running into a Tier One PQ stage III Boss Dragon in 'Blighted isle' just as it wiped out the last person fighting it.

It was down to about 20% or lower health so even though I was just playing a low level Sorcerer Iuckily managed to fire off enough doombolts to solo kill the Dragon before it killed me, but it was very close.

When it was dead I got a system message saying that I had not contributed enough to the PQ to get a prize, despite having been the one that killed the end boss & no-one else alive in sight!

Not quite as arbitrary as people are making out then.
