Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started. |
Take a look at this page http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/realmstatus/ at 11pm est... about 75% of servers were at Max (queue). The boards are filled with people posting 1000plus lines waiting to get on the servers. I am so happy I moved to Fenris last December. It is still Medium even in all this mess. This is much bigger than BC. |

Feminism is the radical notion that women are people. |
I've been waiting in queue for over 30 minutes, and 20 or so minutes to go |

In 1 month or max 1.5 months it will be back to Low or Medium for most servers. It happens in every new release, nothing new. However, If queues means one thing at all for a release, it is the crappy estimation of the developers. The better the population estimate is, the better chances that the producer knows the market. |

Even in last winter without an expansion pack this was the case. The reason is simple: the basic game stays on top of all PC/Mac sales as well. Meaning always new players joining the battles. Battles you don't have in your dying War. Unless you call "living on life support" at under 200K subs within a few months as having a life. Surprise ! EA already has the newest titile ready for War's summer expansion: War goes unplugged. Funny how fast things can change "Say goodbye Wow to your 10 million people". Indeed, 12 million here we come in 2009. |

The queues were indeed an upleasant surprise for a lot of people. Luckily I didn't have to deal with the unpleasantries of waiting at the login screen for 30+ minutes. I do expect the novelty of the new expansion to pass after this weekend and people to start playing regular hours again, instead of the crazyness of the first few days. The Death Knight was a pleasant surprise, although I still don't have full understanding of the mechanics (guess I'm not as smart as most). I haven't been on the new zones, but the starter zone of the DK was sweet, working for all the Naxxramas bosses, when as a raider my primary job was to end their existence :)
PS: Can we please for once refrain from using these pointless comparisons of X game is better or more popular than Y game? Thank you. |

WoW might not be trash, but it is only average. Actually it is so average it is almost incredible. For the nth time, subscription number does not make a MMORPG good. It just means it appeals to more player's preferences, or just won the popularity contest. And no, I don't am not interested in AoC or WAR either. |

Go to the new Northrend territories. And tell me which other game company invested 200 million dollars in their MMORPG these last 3.5 years as Blizz stated this recently (and mentioned in Wowinsider). The moment you have found that company with that kind of investment in the MMORPG industry, please let me know, so I can get rid of this "average" game.

The hypocrisy is just painful, Bodypass. You have been bashing WAR on the WAR board non stop for months now yet you can' t stand the slightest of criticism on YOUR favorite game. Ouch! |
