I think people will be surprised at what the see from AoC in the near future.  Keep in mind, they have now begun to patch the game every Monday and every Thursday, and will continue to do so until further notice.   Planned fixes include endgame content, added destiny quests, mount fixes, PVP rewards, trade skill improvements and some overall tweaks.

Interestingly worded. Planned fixes endgame content and pvp rewards.

Ya that appeals to me, but i m no fan of FC :) That said it seems cool.

I still have a chip on my shoulder about AO, but even with that Funcom has been learning over the years. They managed to make a very successful and stable launch with AoC, now granted its instance and that is what turned me off, but maybe once again Funcom will learn from this and take this knowledge into this new mmo.

I really do hope they make it appealing and an open world. Brings me joy to hear such news.

Yep agreed. You can only hope they will learn from it. I think they will honestly. I too look at this game as a future sub. If it offers something cool i want a MMO with no fantasy along with my WAR :)

What you say is fair in all regards. I dabbled again and i enjoy it. It has come a long way and i feel the population seems considerably larger from when i last played.(6 months ago) That said it s not perfect at all and has some work still, but it has that open world feel i truly love. I love exploring and hate being restricted, this game offers quite a bit of that.

Do you want pvp or not? If not EQ2, Vanguard, LOTRO. If you do i suggest DAOC for everything and AOC for the something nice to look at part only ;)

The ratings don't lie, a lot of people agree that the game was pretty damn smooth at launch. Now then, back to the Blood Sanctum for the breastplate that looks much as the Kings own.

oh yeah, the launch was smooth as hell. the server i was on never crashed once. the client on the other hand...crashes every 30min-2hr. countless bugs, really there is so many i couldnt count them all... missing graphics on armor...missing/messed up terrain graphics, missing/bugged weapon graphics, bugged quests EVERYWHERE, there was no bank, mail, or market system in (not to mention the biggest one, there is no pvp system in yet. you know...the one they promised us.). i could go on and on. yes, they are fixing the stuff, slowly, but most of that stuff shouldnt have happened in a launch.

This is the problem, people are accepting this crap too much nowadays, that developers will know alot will pay for beta. I  am following and can t wait to play WAR(in beta) and if it releases with a few things i don t like in beta i ll be pissed with it as well. I haven t found alot to make me not want to play it and it s got alot of time left. That said if you were the only person saying these things about a released product i wouldn t listen to it too much, but there are threads and posts after posts on many sites backing up what you have said. It isn t acceptable IMO and to alot it won t be. I know Avery will probably attack me in some facet but i will stand by what i say wholeheartedly.

I wouldn t say it s the worst launch at all. Best game ever no bloody way. Best new game of 2008 possibly, best game in the next year not even close. Is this my opinion of course. That said i think we can all agree this game isn t for everyone, not even close.

There is no reason anyone should pay $50 to see wether they like a game or not. It doesn t matter if you can afford t or not, it could be just a waste of money. Anyone saying oh big deal stfu it s only $50 should seriously look at it from other peoples perspective. I can easily afford to dump $50 on it and not worry if i like it or not, but why? It makes no sense whatsoever and i have the patience to wait for a free trial or whatever. That said i m lucky enough to know people that play it and i ve tried the game enough to know i won t buy it:) Anyways no need to pay anything to try a game out IMO.

Yes theres alot of things leading you to the ultimate goal of capping a enemy city, but if you mean explorable areas and not an exact path needing to follow. This is what WAR has. Theres alot to do within each tier and you don t have to follow a specific path at all. Alot to explore as a matter of fact they encourage it with the TOK. Many unlocks are there for you to find by exploring off to areas you might not think to go. It is more a world to me then just a game. Many things to do as objectives etc that may feel like you re guided to do this but many things are there for you to explore:) If thats what you mean by a world then yes it s definately a world more so then just a game IMO.

Yeah, Id love to have rp elements like these. Parents need to stop letting the tv/computer/government schools raise their kids.

ESRB also needs to stop being hypocritical about "thinking for the children" ...which is ultimately just a political tool they use to get their way with more control. >.>

Always better to have the kids inside and at the computer, getting drunk online.

Safer than going out, driving under the influence and getting themselves killed.

You can't /yell Res please! after you've crashed your car into a semi.

Im sorry, I know you meant well by that comment but its just not even what I was meaning. Theres a difference between parenting and sticking your kid in front of a computer/tv for 12 hours a day to keep them occupied so that they dont go out and get killed or whatever.

Its what parents did before the government started trying to raise our kids for us...

Oo how completely correct are you. /bow

49.4 say they will not sub

So that is interesting, if this were the general outlook of all 400k AoC players.

Next week you will have 204k left playing and 196k hitting the door.

Not looking so good.

Wow it will be great to play a pvp wow like war , enjoy the great graphics lol

I see graphics are what matters to you. Silly thing to say like WOW it s not even close i can t think of where to start. RVR and WOW pvp lol no comparison. Try the beta first and come back and tell me that :) Don t tell me you are in beta because if you are , you wouldn t make such a claim.

Ok this i can understand but can you tell me how a server wide event ie city siege could possibly work without a slide show if it wasn t done this way? Remember it s not just one 48 vs 48 or whatever number they come up with, it s many upon many. Main boss in a dungeon what doo you suggest a race for it , kill stealing etc. I mean the whole dungeon is open but the last boss? Scenarios well i m not going to say anything there except they re there for a quick pvp thing , meant to be fun and quick and we all know they re instanced. It s not like thats the only rvr you can do theres many options.

I am also still in WAR Beta....  as I was on AoC beta

I prefer AoC!!!

Bugs? well, even DAoC, EQ2, WoW, plus all MMORPGs still has'em

AoC will improve as the others have... 1 day at a time.

play what you have fun in... I will & am

See this is what makes the world interesting:) You re in WAR beta as am i. You like AOC better then WAR as i like WAR way better then AOC. Different strokes for different folks. This whole AOC is better, no WAR is better is funny. If i like WAR way better doesn t make it better for you. Oh well such is life i guess.

There will be lots of instancing unfortunately. Another pass for a new release. When will developers realize that seamless worlds are what true MMOG players want?

The sieges will be instanced, different city areas. The end game PVE boss battles will be instanced.

Random missions in the progression zones will be instanced.

scenarios, part capital city sieges ONLY will be instanced (but other sieges are completly open), and some PvE bosses will be instanced.. that's basically all.. make some research.. You wont look stupid next time.

You just repeated what I listed. Whose stupid now?

What he/she is saying is yes theres instances but not to the scope you re making it sound. The instances actually are in place for obvious reasons and are placed perfectly is all i ll say :)
