Well it seems you do not know much about PCs, But if you want to use 2 gfxs cards you need a motherborad that is SLI ready. But really you dont need 2 Gfxs cards to do dual monitors, just need enough ram and 1 good enough card.
The gfx card tho needs to 2 ports. The normal port VGA and 1 DVI port which you need a adaptor to use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_card
But if youre going to use 2 monitors with 1 card, I say get a 3.0ghz+ processor and 2 gigs of ram. |

Originally posted by suuung You are quite wrong on this as in order to run 2 or more monitors he needs 2 or more monitor ports. You will find that both graphics cards has at least 1 port. Also a SLI configuration with 2 graphics card will also mean he wont need so much ram to make it work [ 1 gig instead of 2].
I also forgot to mention that ive seen PC's with a duel monitor setup playing eve so it is definatly doable [ive even seen a PC with 3 monitors]. |

A lot of cards have dual DVI ports now, versus VGA/DVI. Either way, you should be able to do it with one card (I'll try it when I get home), but multiple cards would perform better. We actually use three-monitor set-ups at work, though one is plugged into the mobo VGA and we don't use the workstations for graphic-intensive applications. If you had two cards, you could actually run four monitors (or five using the mobo). I can't remember where, but I could swear that I saw a picture of someone running EVE on several monitors. Just imagine EVE on one of these 15, or even 30-screen monitors http://9xmedia.com/products/displays/index.php |

I have seen a picture of someone either dual or triple-monitoring on EVE before that was actually the entire game stretched across the screens, but this is still pretty cool.

Hate to ruin the awesome but that pic is 'shopped. The Neocom toolbar is always on the far edge (left or right). Unless I'm mistaking and there is some hidden option I don't know about. If you configure the drivers properly you should be able to span EVE across monitors connected to the same gfx card or across multiple cards if using SLI/Crossfire. Just be aware that if using only two monitors the capacitor console will be split in the middle. There is no way to move it.. yet. |
