Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning News - First Live Expansion: Call to Arms

Posted by Keith Cross on Jan 29, 2009  | 6 comments in our forums

Mythic Entertainment has announced Call to Arms, the first live expansion for Warhammer Online and the umbrella title for group of live events, new classes, and additions announced earlier today. Call to Arms includes the Night of Murder, Rise of the Tomb Kings, and bitter rivals live Events as well as the opening of Mythic's official WAR forums.

Today we issued a Call to Arms to all players of WAR with the announcement of the first live expansion for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Call to Arms will introduce an incredible array of new content to the game, including two highly anticipated new careers - the head bashin' Orc Choppa and the oath-sworn Dwarf Slayer - and a new dungeon zone called Land of the Dead, set in the desert realm of the Tomb Kings.

The Call to Arms live expansion, set to roll out for free over the next few months, will also include three in-game live events, a new RvR Scenario, added functionality to the Realm Wars section of the WAR website, the opening of the official WAR Forums, and a new free trial version of the game.

The part in red should be a nice addition.

Real forums? As in, real communication with your customers?  I guess I'll just hang on to this 60-Day gamecard for later use.

New classes, new zones, live events,  = yay ( if you don't mind waiting a few more months)

Not fixing the grind of RvE, not redesigning Keeps and Fortresses,  not reducing CC, = fail.

This is just more fluff. They are adding more content instead of fixing the bloody non functional T4, fortress sieges, city sieges, class balances,  insane amount of CC, and other game braking bugs.

Take a look at the vnboards what the war community thinks about this great announcment.

I'm not really sure how you can call something an 'expansion' when it consists almost completely of content that was cut before release and frankly should have been there at launch.
