Rofl, it ain't always about the graphics, and for using WoW as a reference you must really be locked in a basement or something, because WoW graphics suck compared to the better games out there, but WW2O has its own type of graphics, mostly because the game is so infinitely huge that premium graphics would be impossible to run the game on any computer. Because in this game you can see over 2km away, not a whole 50 feet or whatever it is in WoW. And, what's to lose? Just do the 14 day trial. |

The graphics are not as bad as people would have you believe. There is a new graphic engine otw quite soon. As above..when you can see everything there is 3k away as infantry, bodies, eiquipment, trees, bushes, hulks of destroyed equipment, aircraft in dogfights, dead bodies, destroyed blidgs in towns, more towns, The view distance for tanks etc is futther than 3k and Aircraft can see proably 8k depending on height., they can see further but stuff may not be rendered beyond 8k. The physics takes up a lot of your computing power. Each round is trackced for 3k..every round fired, its energy, velocity, angle of penetration, component penetrated, energy lost in damging component, angle of exit from compont, rinse an repeat till 3k or zero energy is achieved. Spalling from penetratiing armor or components is tracked, concussive effects are tracked. No hit bubbles. Fire 100 rounds into a tank that cna withstand the round with its armor..you are not going to get a kill. Try the freebie. You may be pleasantly surprised. |

To the origonal poster, Check out the "Screen Shots" thread just 10 post down and then tell us what you think of the graphics. BTW, here's a good one of a paratrooper drop. Take note, there isn't any AI solders so these are all players.

It's the same with WW2Online. Some of the graphics are decidedly average - not bad, but not amazing either - but what there is in game has been done immersively. Watch your tank tracks as you drive over bumps for instance - the tanks have working suspension. Incoming/outgoing rounds and shells are nicely realistic and there's nothing more thrilling than having your face in the dirt and being on the receiving end of strafing runs or sustained machinegun fire.
