 Hmm, idk people like midgets. I for one roll a midget in every mmo as i'm quite short myself so it lets me reflect on myself in game. This definitly confirmed for me that i'm rolling a lallafel.

of course there will be a smaller race,  that isn't just in eastern mmos... remember dwarves, gnomes, goblines? those are western >_>;

Hardly a robust character avatar creator.  They need to take a look at Aion or even city of heroes.  

FFXI had the best character creation screen evar. This one is just bland. :/ Not that it really matters though, just saying. :P

There have been "midget" type races in Western fantasy for decades now, including the dwarves, halflings, gnomes, etc.

SE has simply put their own twist on it.

Many people are just starved for information, and sadly; this fails to deliver.

FFXI's character creation was horrible. You selected from a handful of totally premade characters per gender/race, and then chose their height..This games is better but still needs more options.

Guy with the mic can't present a demo worth a damn, which seems to be a common problem with the peeps working on FFXIV. Seriously, how do these guys get these jobs? Every other word he said was either cool or awesome.

Sure European games have their midgets too, but eastern midgets are the worst... Well, not that I ever expected FF XIV to come out without midgets, but...
