Life Is Strange: True Colors Twitch Crowd Choice - protagonist in a book store

Streamers and online exhibitionists can let go of the wheel and allow their viewers to take control as Square Enix announce the Life Is Strange: True Colors Twitch Crowd Choice extension, ahead of the game’s full launch.

Fans of Dontnod’s Life is Strange series always knew they were in for a different tale when Square Enix revealed yet another narrative sequel, but the FFXIV publisher has just unveiled something very unexpected. Streamers and Twitch gamers will be able to download and install a custom made extension for the upcoming adventure, allowing audiences on the purple streaming site to make all the major decisions that the game has to offer. No more watching in chat for the result of a poll or asking what you should do. Streamers can now plugin and enjoy the chaos that is Twitch decides.

The new Twitch Crowd Choice extension isn’t likely to just get viewers more invested in the games they are watching but offers two ways to check the wisdom of the crowd, with the broadcaster under full control of the options and poll timing. Players using the system can choose Full Democracy – where the wisdom of the crowd automatically decides all major choices – or Suggestion, where you can take the pulse of your viewers. Using this add on is a two way street, so viewers will need to install the snippet too. Both broadcasters and viewers can grab this ahead of the newest Life Is Strange release, over on Twitch.

Life Is Strange: True Colors is the third mainline Life Is Strange adventure, with Before The Storm and The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit also slotting into the same universe. Developed by Deck Nine, it follows Alex Chen, a teenager with the ability to feel other people’s emotions. After her brother dies in suspicious circumstances, it’s up to Rachel to find the truth behind this accident. Much like other Life Is Strange stories, players can expect to find plenty of gripping storytelling, but maybe a bit more chaos with their viewers in charge.

Life is Strange: True Colors is slated for release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC Steam, GeForce NOW, and Google Stadia on September 10, 2021, and Nintendo Switch later this year. Keep an eye out for this new story on the official website.
