DoK's and WP's get dropped pretty easy by anyone with a bit of range and a snare. They've actually got to hit you to heal since the only other method for getting essence/RF after they're out is a channeled ability. Also Discord spec isn't nearly as good in practice as it is on paper, mostly because of all the willpower debuffs, disrupt debuffs, and undefendable attacks in the game. Still very fun though, especially if you're in a tight group and the RDPS start throwing out AoEs, take 100+ damage for every person in your party that they hit. If you get a bunch of seeping wounds out (if it hasn't been changed that is) healers who throw a lot of HoTs basically kill themselves.
Retailers won't buy things they can't sell, especially if it's something stupid like the pre-order box since they'll never get rid of it. >>

People seem to be having the hardest time in the world knowing what class mirrors what class.
The definision is really easy. Their play mechanic.
Here is the list including the 4 class' that were cut.
Chosen = Knight of the Burning Sun
Marauder = Shadow Warrior
Zealot = Rune Priest
Magus = Engineer
Black Ork = Sword Master
Shamen = Archmage
Squig Herder = White Lion
Witch Elf = Witch Hunter
Sorceress = Bright Wizard
Disciple of Khaine = Warrior Priest
Iron Braker = Black Guard
Hammerer = Choppa
Now all the class' that are in Red means they are cut.
Ranged/Melee has nothing to do with them being mirrors of each other or not. Their play mechanic has everything to do with them being each others mirror.
Also MIRROR does not mean that the class can not be different!!
I disagree with you, you're confusing a few similar skills with 'play mechanic', play mechanic is how they PLAY. i'll use your worse pairing as an example:
Marauder = shadow warrior.... they have a a couple similar skills ( stances versus mutations) but their PLAY mechanics (how they are played, and speced) are very different.
you cant say that ranged/melee has nothing to do wiht them being mirrors of each other, it has EVERYTHING to do with it.... it defines HOW a class is played.... just because maruaders and shadow warriors have a couple similar skills doesnt mean they play anything close to each other... far from it.
A ranged class plays fundamentally different from a melee class. PERIOD.
furthermore, if you want to go even more in detail, you can use the classes mastery paths for direction.
as an example i'll use one of your correct pairings ( bright wiz = sorc) they have 3 paths, one for dealing damage to a single target, one for aoe, and one for more over time damage... this makes them mirrors.
Shadow warrior = squig herder... they have 3 masteries each.. one for long ranged bow attacks, one for closer ranged bow attacks emphasizing kiting, and one melee path. etc...
regardless, the fact that pairing up the 2 sides is difficult is a good thing on mythics part and will help differentiate the sides more.
I can and I will. Because the mirror has to do with their play mechanic.
So it's simply coincidence that the Squig Herder's pets give the player buffs that are identical to Shadow Warrior's stances, and their mastery paths are virtually identical?
Sorry, but I have to do this.
The White Lion and the Squig Herder BOTH have BUFFS that apply to the Pet and the Handler.
The Shadow Warrior Stances (the SW Mechanic) is the equivelent of the Marauder's different Mutations.
Each stance/mutation applies to a different playstyle and improves performance in that mastery.
Thus... Shadow Warrior Mechanic = Stances , Marauder Mechanic = Mutations.
i.e.
Shadow Warrior
(Scout Stance - Direct damage Ranged sniping while stationary) ~ Path of Scout Mastery
(Skirmish Stance - Close range skirmish skills while moving) ~ Path of Skirmish Mastery
(Assault Stance - Specialty for both offensive and defensive melee) ~ Path of Assault Mastery
Marauder
(Spike/Blade Mutation - Direct damage Melee specialized positional attacks) ~ Path of Brutality Mastery
(Claw Mutation - Damage over time in association with Debuffs) ~ Path of Savagery Mastery
(Club Mutation - Area of effect cone abilities with a slight focus on defense) ~ Path of Monstrosity Mastery
Each stance/mutation is used for different situations and allows both classes to adapt easily by switching between the various stances/mutations to overcome their opponent.
If this makes sense..... great.
If not, well..... thats just another person that can't understand the mirrored classes.

This is a mirror, probably the clearest mirroring in the game, they're basically the exact same class. Squig Herders have a lot more useless fluff than Shadow Warriors, like everything having to do with Squig Armor, but in return they do considerably less DPS. They've got nothing in common with Marauders or White Lions. Squig Herder buffs do not apply to their pets, their buffs are their pets.

nice post. I never really did any research on the Empire tank. why did he get cut? i heard that hammer/coppa got cut because they were to weak until they got into a lot of combat then they became unstoppable? i may be wrong but just wondering.
KoTBS was pretty similar to Chosen in that they had auras, but they were beneficial while Chosens were mainly debuffs. They also had a few skills similar to Ironbreakers in that they'd attack to buff their own defense. This was pretty early though. My thought was that because Chosen ended up getting both sides of the coin KoTBS got pushed out of the picture since they'd have to either get a whole new concept for them or make them complete mirrors. Hammerer and Choppa had their mechanics pulled pretty early too, so they were basically guys with skills on them.

I agree with the OP.
White lion is melee, marauder is melee.
Shadow warrior is mostly ranged, so is squig hearder.
Mythic mirrored the classes so that order and destruction would be balanced.
So are Zealots and Warrior Priests mirrors of each other because they are both healers?
The Mirrors of each class are the class' that have the same mechanic. Being Ranged or Melee makes no difference.
And if your so thick headed to think other wise... I really dont know what to tell you.
The different Squig Herder pets give the exact same bonuses that Shadow Warriors get from stances. They both share the run and shoot mechanic, both have nearly identical skills and mastery trees. On top of the fact that they're both bow fighters in light armor. They are most definitely mirrors. Marauders and White Lions on the other hand are supposed to be mirrors but aren't nearly as similar. They still get pretty much the same bonuses between their pets and stances but their mastery and skill trees are almost completely different.
