• • WoW didn't ruin mmorpgs WoW clones did

  • Im sorry but reading Woody's first post actually made me laugh! That has never happened when reading forums before. No games have tried to copy WoW? You know, trolls are bad, but retarded trolls who were frightened when WoW first came out, hid under a rock, and have missed everything from the gaming universe for the past 4 or so years then come out and dont realize how much is blatantly ripped from WoW just get downright obnoxious. I have to agree with the first post, WoW clones are starting to bog the market. WoW is making changes, to make it look like they actually do game design and not run around their office playing games. They are starting to realize they need more if they want to keep their player, although right now it amounts to only a new 'hero' class and a couple instances and BGs, but it is improving and improvements should be supported.

  • Yep, totally agree and finally tired of this. So PLEASE, wither enjoy the screenshots that were kindly put up for people who do like the art style or lets bury the final stake in the coffin and let this rest in peace.

  • finally someone managed to sum up perfectly what Ive been trying to say myself. Im kinda bad with words but Coffee I have to thank you for summing it up perfectly. Actually, i have to agree with a lot of you, especially the graphics dont matter and WoW runs better than LOTRO people.

  • Spamalot, you are comparing WoWs work-on-any-system graphics to the graphics of DirectX 10 games. LoTRO looks amazing and beautiful... if running in Direct X 10. WoW looks beautiful in Direct X like 8. And also, we are not concerned with how nice something works. But you wont listen because you keep assuring us we are not answering your question when we have 5 or 6 times. We are saying they look awesome becuz we understand the WoW art direction, which is simplicity. We ARENT comparing it, becuz any comparison is unfair, becuz WoW isnt TRYING at all to match those games. It isnt the established look that comes all the way from the Warcraft series. New MMOs are just trying to beat WoW by making their games look more visually amazing and WoW clearly doesnt want to. Blizzard could easily amp up the graphics if they wanted to.

    And all of this is irrelevant when you realize that WoW is better than ever other MMO and anyone who says otherwise is like I use to be three months ago, hating it simply for its popularity. If you disagree with that, you are lying.

  • Well, first off it all depends on your server. For example, my server doesnt need a deflate, it needs to increase, which Im hoping will occur with the recent change for my server to recommended. I really doubt that a coming expansion would deflate the market, such things have not occured on my server, its just that we are low pop.
