I will not run to the armory i will run up to the nearest guy i see picking flowers and kill him for his gear beofre running back to my corpse to find my attacker.
If no one is around I will head to the nearest humaniod NPC camp that uses armour+ weapons and kill them for their gear (NPCS drop what they are using in DF).
If neither option is available I will ask my clan for help in catching my killer and getting my stuff back.
I havent started to consider making my own new gear, buying gear in town, getting spares from the bank etc.
Although pre launch the expectation in the minds of many is that DF will be a violent non stop PvP game, the truth is likley very different and a much more cooperative world will eventually be formed due to the dependance of players on each other to succeed.
The economy is non existant. I levelled up form 50-60 with no quests to do just grinding mobs and there was no value in looting kills. I couldn't sell resources for enough to make it worth while gathering them other than for guild needs. It was hardly worthwhile selling drops, due to the timne it takes to sell and the amount of competition. All those problems and the trader interface was just awful as well.
It wasn't the only reason I quit but it certainly contributed.
There is no drooling. Most 'fans' are cautiously optimistic. Aventurine are touting a game we all want to play, with the feature set we all want to see but they are a small company and we have only a little information about the game so we all know there is no guarantee.
It looks good - I like the idea of a modern FFA PvP game with full loot and FPS style combat. I'm sure it will need to be graphically reduced to cope with that stress. I can cope with that. I cant wait. If they fail to deliver they will be in great company with AoC, Warhammer (Lite version) and countless others that promised new and innovative and deliver cookie cutter repackaged wow clones.
I will risk it. Then again, I never had 1st hand experience of GOA so,,,
How many hours per day do you play MMORPGs?
